When I saw this prompt, I found it very interesting to write about because this is one major thing that goes on in society today. Most people use helping people as content. This also helps to boost their social media pages and also makes them look good in the eyes of the public. Then we really can’t judge because we don’t know if they are also doing it from their heart.

I will always believe that you could carry out a good deed off-camera, put the camera away, and just render the help you want to render. Why would you want to help someone and then put the camera on their faces so people would see that you are helping them? Most people help someone just for clout and it is so bad and embarrassing sometimes but then the person you are helping does not care because they need the help you are offering.
It is really important that you do good from your heart and not because you want it to be published online so you can acquire new followers or for people to see you as a good person. The intention is always as important as the act, but I think most people do not care about the intention. They just want the publicity and want everyone to know that they are doing this. Like I said some people could have good intentions too but then we can offer help to people without publicity.
I have seen people who render help to people just because they are expecting something in return. They would only do good to you because they feel that at the end of the day, there could be some important things they can acquire from you. It’s a terrible act but people do that everywhere. They would only be nice to you because of what they can get from you. If there was a situation where you didn’t have what they needed there would be no way they would be seen associating with you.
There was a certain situation which I encountered, this friend of mine was super stable and had things going on well with his finances. He had friends around who would go over to his place and were ready to hang out with him. They were all nice to him at that point, during his birthday he would get lots of gifts because they knew for sure that he would reciprocate and also give them gifts on their birthday.
Well, everything changed when things weren’t working out for him and he had a bit of financial problems. People started withdrawing and when it was his birthday he got little or no gifts because obviously, he wouldn’t be able to give back on their birthdays. He was really sad but he got to realize that most times people are just good to you because of what they want.
I have had similar experiences with people and honestly, it is so painful when you get to find out that most people are only good and nice to you because of what they would get from you and once they have gotten that stuff, they stay away. I know how it feels so I try my best to not do that kind of thing. If I am doing good, I make sure it’s from my heart and I try to keep the public eyes away and not be expectant of anything afterward. Be good because you want to not because of what you want to achieve.
