Organ harvesting is something we have gotten used to hearing about everyday as it has been something that is common every where in the country, a lot of people secretly involved themselves in. Just like we watch in the movies where people are kidnapped and their organs are harvested and used for rituals or sold to others for so many others things
This is my entry for #hivelearners weekly contest and the topic is (ORGAN MARKET) Recently we have had cases of Yahoo boys who have used their girlfriends for rituals and in most cases they harvest their organs and do unspeakable things with them ,some even go as far as eating them.
I have experienced a hospital that was opened specifically for organ harvesting and in this kind of hospitals people come with minor issues and the doctors tell them they have a more serious disease that would require them to perform a surgery on the patients and in the process they will take out one of their organs without them knowing about it. And they offer this organs to people who are will for it at average highs price to those who need it for their selfish purposes .
Why will people still want to sell their kidney and other organs in the body just so they can get money, a lot of people lure innocent people who are innocent through their promises to give them money and so many other opportunities and then they take out their organs and sell them , most times they do this to people who are not relevant in the society .
The rate of poverty in the country has made a lot result people looking for ways to sell off their kidney or many other organs of their body for a huge amount of money and if attention is being paid you would see that they take more what the pay them for .
In as much we are the owners of our bodies and we should be able to do anything we want with our bodies, I strongly believe it's not good to do anything we want with our body there should be law guiding that and it should be punishable by the law.
Organ harvesting is something that is very bad and should not be practiced by anyone no matter they go through in life comes with unexpected circumstances that are beyond sometimes.
A man who sells one of his kidney for money could have kidney failure in the future and need to rely on the other kidney for survival and when it's not there what are they result to looking for a donor and it is always difficult to find during emergency and it's very expensive.
As for me organ trafficking is something I would never want to indulge myself in, because I value my health as a health practitioner. Knowing that it illegal I will rather go a respectable job no matter how little so am not subjected to poverty that may lead me to consider donating my organs for money.
Government should implement laws that would stand strongly against Organ harvesting and illegal organ donations should be punishable by the law.
