Well, this year’s Christmas has come and gone. And boy, has it been an experience. It’s actually the first one I will be spending on my own, away from any family member. In the past years, we’ve always spent it together. Sharing the love and having fun. But today, it was different.
But then, I was not alone. I had my friends who were equally around, and I also had my plan. Remember the plan I told you about earlier? Yeah, I started following it, and it is actually working out pretty great for me. And as Christmas Day is rolling to a close, this could easily be a Christmas to remember for me.
I actually had a great time with my friends and neighbors. Nothing like a bunch of young people gathering around and just having a chat. It’s especially more fun when there is a dash of alcohol mixed in to loosen up the tongue. It’s usually in gatherings like that that you know if your friends can hold their drinks or not. Because some people just don’t seem to know their bodies. They keep on guzzling it down, thinking they are fine until they try to get up and then realize that the world is actually upside down.
But then, I think I am being way ahead of myself. Before all this, I was mostly alone. I prepared my Christmas dish and spoiled myself rotten with enjoyment. Then, for the first time in a long time, I binge-watched a series. Yeah, I started a series and I didn’t stop until I hit the last episode.
Normally, I am unable to do that because of work and the little time available. But today was a holiday, and I was going to enjoy it. And that was how I started watching the second season of Netflix’s Alice In Borderland.
And for me, this second season was even more explosive than the first. I am not going to talk much about it here, seeing as the season just came out. Barely a few days old. But it was enough to keep me hooked all through until I was done. But then, that was where the second problem came in. After seeing the series, I realized something else; I was far from done!
Yeah, I wanted more!
And so, I also watched one of Netflix’s latest movies, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. And it just blew my mind away. Watching it took me back to the days when murder mysteries were still a thing and were the rave of the moment. Daniel Craig did a splendid job there, and I was riveted from the beginning to the end. I hope more movies like that will be made because they are just so much fun.
It was after watching this that I decided to take a break from my screens and spend some time with other humans. And so, I stepped out and that was how I found myself in the gathering I had told you about earlier. And we were talking, drinking, and just about having fun until night fell. That was when I called it quits and came back inside.
And now, I am here, composing this to you all.
I probably should have gone for an outing or something, but when I think of the traffic in this area, spending six hours on the road for an enjoyment that would last only two hours, I would just roll my eyes and perish the idea. When the traffic reduces, maybe that is when I would begin my main celebration. I will probably go to a hotspot or two and have me and my friends some quality time.
But like I always say, no stress and no pressure. The main goal is to have a good time, and I am not doing it for the benefit of anyone except myself. So, all in good time. The Christmas season has started off on a great note, I will see what Boxing Day will hold in store for me.
I can’t wait!
Merry Christmas to you dear readers!
