I think I have made posts previously on my music preferences and how each of them affects me.
Music is different for everyone, and how we respond to it is also different. The message one person might pick from a particular song may be different from what someone else might get from it. That is just how we are wired.
Music is different for everyone. For some people it is a source of inspiration, for some, it is a way to communicate and for others, it is just another way to have fun and feel good. And there are people like me, our reasons are all of the above.
There are songs that when I listen to them, they just strike a chord deep within me, making me think long and hard. I begin to imagine scenarios and possibilities. And that is how words come to life most of the time. The beautiful thing about this is that it can happen at any time of the day, but it occurs mostly at night, that is the period when the body is most relaxed and the mind is free to think and explore.
When I want songs like these, I can listen to Lionel Richie, Asa, Westlife, Celine Dion, Brymo… these are artistes that when I listen to their songs they are able to transport me into an entirely different realm. One where creativity flows like milk and honey and the mind is free to wander freely.
Other times, there are artistes that always use their brand of music to pass a message. Not that the other artistes do not have a message to pass on to their listeners, they almost always have something to say in their music and I enjoy them immensely for it.
Such artists include Falz, Kendrick Lamar, and Eminem… to me, these are artists that take their time to pass their message to their listeners. And ii have to say that I usually get it full-time.
And lastly, the
ere are songs I love to listen to because of their feel-good vibes that will be the selling point of the music. These are songs that come in handy when I just want to kick back and relax, I also listen to them when I am running one or two chores. They help to take my mind away from the task at hand, therefore making me able to finish up quickly. They have been a lifesaver indeed.
Some of the artists I enjoy their music for this purpose include Asake, Davido, Pheelz, and Reekado Banks… there are more, of course, but these are the ones that are just off the top of my head.
So, my dear friends, what is music to you? How do you find them and how do they assist you in your day-to-day living? Is it something that makes life easier to live? Or it is just something that you just enjoy doing? Feel free to let me know in the comments section, I would love to know your thoughts.
Thank you for reading. Till we meet in the next post.
