While I see the point here, but war will always be one of the most pointless things. Simply because it involves one person wanting something that belongs to a group of people and wanting to take it by any means and forcing them to defend themselves. Regardless of all the complexities and jargon used to adorn it, this is what it always comes down to. Greed!
And the most painful part, the people who declare the war are never the casualties of this war. Innocent soldiers go to battle, civilians get bombed. Meanwhile, the people who caused the wars are safe and snug in their bunkers. It's not fair.
The same for all conflicts, if people will simply see themselves in the shoes of others, maybe most of the conflicts will be resolved. Because our problem as a species is thinking that we're the only ones with problems and needs and so, everyone else has to kotow to our needs.
