Hello everyone, how are you all doing on this beautiful Monday? It is the start of a new week, and it is yet another opportunity to go after the big bag.
It is said that the love of money is the root of all evil, that might be correct, that might not be correct. I am not here to support or oppose the notion; I am just here to lay out some facts.
First of all, in this big bad world, there is no single soul that can do without money. The world has come to be so heavily dependent on money that many of us are enslaved to it even without our knowledge. We work day and night, toiling in the hot sun and heavy rain just so that we can get the bag. And some times, it seems that all our hard work is never enough. It seems like our effort does not pay off as the income we get is just so little.
That is the real life struggle for the paper.
Whether we like it or not, money is the solution to about ninety percent of our problems as humans. Money can fix all our physical needs and sometimes even the psychological ones.
It is only when we have money that we can buy food, clothes and houses. Our children’s education is not free, and even when that comes free courtesy of the government, you still have to use money to get school uniforms and textbooks and other school materials. Money pays all the bills, it builds our places of worship and makes countries prosperous.
When you have money, it also improves your confidence because you get to see yourself in a better light than you used to. When you have money, your family members are happy and there are just less problems to deal with simply because the basic needs are already met.
So, when we list out all this, it is easy to fall in love with money. Especially when you come to a country like mine, where it has become quite a norm to shame people who lack it. This is why we see people going to all lengths to get the money.
So, is the love of money evil?
I think there really is no straight answer to this.
People go after money for different reasons. Some do it just to give their families a comfortable life, some do it so they can live however they want to, some do it so they can have more power, and there are those who chase money just so they can show off to their friends and loved ones.
The truth is, the love of money has led people into committing heinous acts. Through time, we have seen people kill, steal, defraud, and even commit more and more horrible acts just because they want to increase the amount in their bank accounts.
It is not news, we hear of these things all the time. Most of the time, the reason people choose a life of crime is for the money. But then, the reason people wake up each morning to toil and hustle, is also for the money.
But one thing separates them, karma. Karma will always go to those who steal from others in whatever way. It can come in form of the law, or through natural causes. But you will surely pay. The criminal will have to live with this over his head for the rest of his life, with the curses of those whom he had stolen from following him wherever he went. And for those that chose to make their money in a legitimate way, they will always have the blessings of the universe. And their works will always be multiplied based on the effort they put in.
At first, it might not be substantial, the money you are making might feel so small in respect to the amount of work you are putting in. but I need to tell you that as long as you are alive, there is always room for improvement and increase in income. You can make yourself better, get more skills, further your education, deliver more output… these are factors that will determine the income you will be getting.
So, the love of money can be the root of all evil. Just as it can’t. It all depends on the perspective you choose to view it from and the means by which you are ready to go for it. In the end, it all boils down to the choices you make.
Please, note that these are just my thoughts on the topic and I am in no way imposing them on anyone.
