How do people go through some of the emotions that they process? Like, how do they take time to go through them? Because if there is one thing I’ve come to understand, it’s that people tend to avoid anything that requires work. People find it hard to look within themselves and understand why they feel a certain way about certain things or people. They just go with the flow and hope for the best.
But sadly, hoping for the best is not always the right answer because that suggests that your answer or your solution would come from an external source. Meanwhile, what you might need is to look inward. Just take out the time to do a little thinking and figure it out. But for some reason, many of us find it hard.
There are some things that people would call gut feelings, where they go somewhere or do something based on what their instincts tell them. Instincts alone, with nothing concrete to back them up. And sometimes, it works; other times, it fails them. But then, I believe that from time to time, people confuse emotions with gut feelings. And when this is the case, you might end up having an even worse backlash.
There are people whom you’ll meet, and for some reason, you just won’t like or trust them. And for those guys, no matter what they do, no matter if they jump out of a plane to save a baby, you still might never really like them. Even though they have not done something to you personally. Take, for example, the police. All over the world, Police officers have a little bit of an issue. In some areas it’s corruption, in others it’s racism, in even others it’s either high-handedness or trigger-happy cops. Either way, the masses that should be protected end up suffering.
And for many, they already have this idea of police, even though a person might not have had an encounter with them, they have a friend or family member who has, or they’ve heard stories of people it has happened to. And thus, it sticks to the memory. But then, remember that there are also good officers as well, cops that can never be bought and actually believe in justice and the rule of law. But sadly, as long as you have that badge or that police uniform, you will always be clumped into the same box with everyone else. That’s what happens when emotions get involved.
So, what am I trying to say? You might find yourself feeling a certain way without even knowing why. Well, this is a reminder for you to find out why you feel that way. Dig deep, and if your emotions don’t make sense to you, just ask yourself and find out why. It would make so many things easier in the long run. Because as a human, your ability to speak with yourself will be the first step to truly conquering yourself.
And that is a fact.
