Proverbs are word of wisdom, they come in many forms and most are really helpful if we follow the warnings it gives us, i used to love reading the book of proverb in the bible and i learnt a lot from it, even though i never get to understand some of the teachings until later in life when i had more experience...
He who loves pleasure will fall into poverty
The first time i came across this in the bible, i understand it but could not relate with it until last year, partying around is a way to have pleasure and such thing only empty ones pocket, i am a kind of person that loves the introverted life style and i don't keep much friends either but i attended a certain youth program where i met people and we became friends and one day we decided to go out and have fun in a hotel bar with a swimming pool, we were like 10 and when i got home that day after all the fun, i realized i spent nothing less than 30 000 naira, dang that is huge and i vowed never to engage in such again but i got tempted again the following week and even though i promised myself to be careful with spending, i still spent like 24 000 naira, that was when i realize the only way to avoid spending money is not by going at all because if i keep spending such amount on every outing, the money will definitely finish and i would be left with nothing to spend....
So the next time i was invited to follow them to such outing, i said no! and made it clear i won't be following them anymore because i realize that is not the path i want to walk in life, it is a long path of no return once i embark on it so i quickly stopped when i still have the control over myself and it worked....
This is the problem of so many youth of nowadays, they are so addicted to pleasure that they don't care about their future or what those fortunes they are wasting on having fun can cost them later, they want to put on the latest wears, use the latest phone and have fun in pubs, all these things aint free. they cost alot of money....
if they want to stop now, it would be hard because they do not have the power to control their urge for it anymore and sometimes you will see them involving in dirty deals just to get more to satisfy their cravings..
So as a person who want to be successful in life, you must not love partying too much as it will consume you and your money and at the end you will be left with nothing...
