Recently, I watched a video where a lion jumped over a fence and attacked 3 people on the street. The owner ran after it to avoid death, and gladly, no one died.
When are some people going to learn that wild animals are not meant to be kept as pets, nor are they meant to be kept in the zoo for entertainment, knowledge, or whatever reason they have for doing that.

Most people tend to forget we are also animals, and the only thing that differentiates and makes us superior to all other animals is our advanced brain.
They eat, drink, mate, reproduce, and also care for their young ones the same way we do, the only thing they lack is our advanced brain, which helps us to produce weapons and other things that make our race undefeatable... Now imagine a human being put in a cage by a gorilla so that other gorillas can watch it.
They claim that they have a higher chance of living longer when captured and caged by humans, and my question is, as humans, are we going to prefer being caged by other animals, provided they give us food and water, or would we prefer to spend our life with our family amidst the threat we would face from other predators.
Humans are the villains in the animal kingdom; we do not respect nature, and we are ready to destroy whatever is on our path to achieve our aim. Whenever we want to take over a new place, we burn bushes and kill the wild animals around there, which makes the other wild animals leave that region to seek greener pastures in the thicker forest far away from humans, but this doesn't mean that someday, humans won't go there too.

I believe one of the common reasons for having a zoo is to teach people about animals and to show the animals to people who have only seen them on television, even though the reason behind it is good for humans, but it is unfair to the wild animals and it is not different to when humans are enslaved and forced to work unwillingly.
The most annoying reason is when they claim they are trying to protect them from going extinct, but here in Nigeria. The wild animals in the zoo are suffering from malnutrition. Some years ago, there was news about two lions caged in a zoo in Nigeria who were dying due to not having enough to eat... In the end, they were released back into the wild to fend for themselves, but will they survive as they were already too weak to hunt!.
Why keep something if you can't feed it well? Is it not better to let it be in its natural habitat, where it can fend for itself and become stronger?
