I'm not even a social media person. I mean, you can only find me on WhatsApp and once in a long while on Facebook or any of the others, but I shake my head in diagust and say that the entire media space is in dishevel. People are going crazy.
My friend showed me this video of a man and woman, both of whom we assume are a couple running about where I think is their cimpound. The annoying thing about that video was the lady wearing just panties and singlets(with nothing like a bra underneath to hold her breasts). Away from the fact that he underwear was very disgusting and looked filthy, the video was a disgusting sight. The catch for the video, i think, was the lady's dancing breasts, and did it do the work by getting the traffic they needed? Of course, yes. There were thousands of reactions ranging from love, like, haha, and anger. And oh, the comment section was chaotic. Some cruise and lots of bashing and well, that's the aim, yeah? Yeah! It's very embarrassing.
I've come across many videos that made me cringe. I feel like I could puke from just the images/videos playing in my head, and I could share the details to some but for the fact that they could be a trigger to some persons.
I may not have been using the online space for long and may not be active, but I know that these disgusting contents weren't always there. At least not as much as is now. And I know it doesn't end with these videos as there are tons of other contents that are untrue and terrible, which are saturating the media space.
Everyone wants a share of the digital money. The quick, easy money. Ever since monetization of pages and accounts people would go as far as sharing very private information, cooking up untrue stories, engaging in unnecessary fights and call outs and just putting out whatever content whether it was true or not or whether it would be detrimental to another person or not, just so they could gain traffic and earn from it.
Monetization is a good thing. I mean, there are tons of great contents out there getting the publicity they need. I've had to learn a number of things from watching people's contents and from reading. People tend to share more valuable stuff cause there's also some monetary gain in it for them, which I like for them.
But then, it seems that the negatives are beginning (even already) outnumbered the Positives. I have an eye for spotting stupid posts and never clicking on them, but every time I go by, I'd already see that they have so many engagements. While we all come here and complain about these nuisances on social media, I'm concerned about what people are giving them the publicity. I feel like if we already can tell the content is trash, why not ignore totally rather than drop our angry reactions and leave comments to show how appalled we are, which by the way is all the engagement these people need to keep on with the foolishness.
I really don't know, but I wish that more and more contents got cut off from monetization by virtue of the nuisance they portray. That way, we all get to see more of the good stuff that's out there.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
