Good day, amazing people of Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate; this week's prompt skipped my mind.
As death is inevitable, so is forgetfulness. Oh, it skipped my mind; I totally forgot. We say this often, of cause we are human being and there is nothing wrong if things skip our minds sometimes, but it will only become an issue when it keeps occurring. We are human and not a process program or a robot that is programmed to do anything. Humans engage their self one head and mind are often clouded with thousands of things at the same time, which will make us forget the important things we are supposed to do. Every human is guilty of this at some point; you have skipped an important task or important thing due to forgetfulness.
I have this friend of mine who has A1 when it comes to forgetting things. There is no single day she will not forget something in the house, and when she gets to the office, she will call me to bring the stuff she forgot at home. It has become her regular routine, so anytime I see her call, I will ask, Bestie, what did you forget? and the both of us will laugh over the phone. She has to create a reminder because her own forgetfulness is pro.
If I say I have not forgotten something important, I will be the greatest liar of our time. The experience was really frustrating. I woke up very late, so I was rushing to get ready for work so that I would beat the early morning traffic. Unknown to me, I forgot the key to our office at home. I got to work, and all the workers were outside waiting for me. Immediately I dipped my hand inside my handbag, and I didn’t see the key. I poured out all the things in my handbag, and I didn’t see anything. It was at this point that I realised that I had forgotten the key at the dinner table. At this point, I was tired and angry at the same time, but I had no choice but to go back home and pick up the key. The traffic was much; at a point I wished I had wings to fly because I didn’t want my boss to arrive and the office to still be locked. While on boss, I will call my colleagues to know if our boss has arrived. I was troubled knowing full well that we have missed some of our clients to our competitors.
Coming back to the office, my boss had arrived. He was so mad at me; we lost many clients that day. I have to fix my mess because my boss was so mad. I have to reach out to those clients that left. Favour was really on my side; it happens that those clients have no priority with other vendor and we made the best sales that day. At the close of work, my boss was so happy that we made the best sales; he warned me not to repeat such a mistake again.
After that incident, I always pack my handbag before going to bed so that I will not forget anything, and in the morning before I leave the house, I will cross-check my bag to make sure I packed everything I will be needing in the office.
This is my entry on the ongoing weekly content HiveLearners community prompts of #hl-w168e1; the topic skipped my mind.
