Good day, amazing people of the Hive Blockchain. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt: mental vs physical.
When it comes to my health, I don’t joke with it because health is wealth. Both my mental and physical health are very important to me, and I don’t patronise one and neglect the other one. When it comes to our health, it shouldn’t be one-sided. Most people always think that physical health is more important because you need to be fit so that you can be able to function well, while others think that mental health is more important because it governs the physical. Regardless of your thoughts, none is less or more important than the other; rather, it is important to balance the two because if it is one-sided, the other one will suffer.
I have this ideology that both play equal roles, and so none should be neglected. I can remember when I lost my dad, I was so down emotionally, but when you see me physically, I look strong, but inside I am dying. I was like, 'As far as I am okay physically, I have nothing to worry about,' but at a point it was telling on me. That is when I realised that I need to balance my mental health and my physical health for me to be able to function well.
I tell myself that I need to strike a balance between the two for me to have good health. I don’t just need to focus on the physical aspect and neglect the mental aspect; I have to balance the two for me to live healthily. I started paying attention to myself. I listen to every sign; whenever I am tired or stressed out, I will slow down and give myself a break rather than pushing hard.
Adequate rest: rest is very important for both the physical and mental health. Since I realised the truth, I don’t joke with my sleep because it is during this period that my body and mind relax so that I will be able to be more productive.
Exercise: exercise is a good means to balance both your physical health and mental health. Physical activities help us to boost our minds and also stay fit. It is very healthy for both physical and mental health; whenever I exercise my body, I have peace of mind. I have someone that loves peace of mind. I will always tell myself that peace of mind comes from within; as far as I have peace of mind, I have balance of both.
I don’t get involved in things that will affect me mentally and physically; I only indulge in things that promote my physical health and my mental health. Both are important, and we should not neglect or pay less attention to one. It is very necessary that we should put both in check. If one suffers, it will affect our entire being.
This is my entry on the ongoing weekly prompts #hivelearners #hl-w182e1 topic: mental vs physical.
