Time travel can change so many things, but what we are not sure of, if we change those things, are we going to achieve our desire? Would things be better, or would they become worse?
That's an uncertainty that we can't even begin to imagine. We are already suffering from our mistake of greed and indecision.
I know many Nigerians would agree with me that if we are allowed to time travel and set our country right.
We will bring back our late president, Musa Yaradua. He was a good man. He has the country at heart.
He would have made Nigeria a great nation. He wasn't biased; he loved everyone according to what they deserved in this country.
He was a man of few words. Things were cheap during his tenure. There was no hardship, inflation of foodstuff, or fuel increment.
So many things were just working well in his tenure. When we talked about his death. The country was thrown into mourning. I do wonder why good people don't last.
The price of foodstuff was very low; you could use 700 hundred to cook, even no matter how small the soup was.
Let's not even talk of fuel, the transportation was very cheap; you could travel from Port Harcourt to Lagos with just five thousand naira.
Within Port Harcourt, then, it was cheap; 50 naira can take you to mile 1, so if you had 200, you could go to a certain place and come back.
The rate of crime was very low; you can still walk free from 8pm till 12 am. Our security personnel were not this wicked and selfish.
Back then, a police officer could save you from danger, but now you are not even safe from their hand.
If I could time travel, I would try to find out where we got it all wrong and how we can Savage whatever is remaining before it escalates to what we have now facing us.
It is not as if there was no crime, but the rate now is higher. Back then boys were hustling real hustle.
There was Yahoo back then, but the quest for money has always been there, but between adults, not kids, looking for money to be who they are not supposed to be the cause of hardship.
Back then, there was a limit to what one could post on social media; now, ritualism has become the order of the day. Prostitution was hidden. Now it has a new name, hookup.
All because of the hardship in the country, and worst still, parents are promoting it and chilling their kids.
I wish I could bring President Yaradua back; just maybe our country won't have to be a shadow for itself as it is now. No matter who you are, if you commit any offense, you will pay for it.
Unlike this current situation, you can publicly humiliate anybody, and justice won't be served.
During his time, no Boko Haram, no herdsmen, no python dance. If time travel is possible someone should take me straight to it. My country needs the hand of the clock to be turned back urgently
