Hello and welcome to my page. I'm and here is my entry to the weekly featured content for week 14 edition 3 This post is in response to the question which states;
"It is no news that a lot of the things that are taught in schools do not come in handy in real life. And what does this mean? Is education a waste of time and resources? Or it is still a vital part of growing up?"
To me, I'll rather say education is not a scam which implies that it's still a vital part of our growth process in life. Without education, we all know there won't be a better life. So this means to say that education is one of our make up that gives meaning to the life we possess. It helps us grow in knowledge thereby delivering our life from ignorance which could have rendered the entire world never in existence better we shouldn'thave gotten solutions to most problems and challengeswe face on a daily basis. Education commences the moment we learn by imitation from an infant stage to that of an adult.
Come to think of these, have you ever thought of the fact that there are classes of education? Among these are; informal and formal education." You learn to do nothing when you're not informally educated to understand the use of words, pronunciation and values. Our verbal expression indicates that learning by imitating people around us is a form of education. Not until you're admitted to a school or college before you're educated. So the home is the first school of learning where we are able to pay attention by imitating what happens within our surrounding environment.
Now to the aspect of formal education; this is made to further widening our mental faculty by knowing and understanding what happens in real life situations and how problems can be solved through such a formal knowledge. So here, we see that someone acquires diverse skills and knowledge which is applicable to our daily living and challenges which might require our intervention for solutions.
In our contemporary world, many people from developing countries considers education as a scam all due to the poverty rate of my literate people today. It is now becoming a belief system by most youths of such a country (who aren't privileged or able to get what they want in terms of job or connections with their certificate) that education is a waste of time and resources while in places like the united kingdom and most parts of the united states, education is held in high esteem. Many in most strategic countries of the world within Africa considers education as a scam because most eligible graduates are not given the platform needed to exhibit their dynamism and as a result, they feel shortchanged. Many are graduates out there roaming here and around the streets with no company or organisation to employ them. Many are denied their human rights and privileges due to bad leadership and they do not have the connections needed to get that job they wanted in most cases. Many educated youths had become refugees in their own country and are absorbed by foreign organisation but this happens to a few fraction to be candid. Despite all these, it's not enough to call education a scam because there will always be a time better job opportunities may arise and besides, education makes one before a more professioner and better entrepreneurs of our personal business and it also promotes business management which cuts down on poverty rate.
One of the beauty of education is the fact that it help promote cordiality and good interactive mechanism between two or more like minded people locally and internationally. Education gives you an edge over non skilled individuals. So life will definitely be unbearable and shattered without education, professional carreers won't be a possibility as it is today, hive blog shouldn't have been in existence and non of us shouldn't have been here as well.
With these insights I'vegiven so far, i believe you'll definitely agree with me that education is the best legacy any parent can give their children and it's never a scam. Thank you.
