Hello Hive Learners, Happy Sunday for all of you...
On this Sunday I want to make something different and this time I will create the latest content from Hive learners, namely Sunday Creative. As previously announced that in July there will be Sunday Creative content starting every week and this is very interesting for me. Therefore, in this post, I will also try to make something as creative as I can, namely drawing. I haven't been drawing in a long time since I graduated from high school, and I think this time I will start again, and this is really fun for me.
Here I will start with the steps and this time I will draw a character that I created myself, and I want to make it in the form of a sketch and resemble a regular cartoon without coloring it, so for those of you who want to see the steps, let's see below.
Here I only need a 2B pencil, a clean eraser, and paper of course. I made this pencil have two different sides, one sharp side and the other a bit blunt. This is because I will be using the sharp side to define the lines, and the blunt side for the shading and pattern of the outline.
The first step, I started with a pattern where here I just need a rough drawing for guidance from the original shape, these lines work so that I maintain the shape, size and volume of the character I want to draw.
I first designed the face so that I can adjust the shape and type of character I want to draw. After I'm done with the face shape, the lines that were earlier are no longer needed because I can measure them myself, but for those of you who are just learning I suggest not erasing the lines so you don't lose your guide in determining the image.
And here's the character design I got, I emphasized the lines using the sharp side of the pencil so the lines don't fade.
After making the outline, I immediately emphasized the shape to resemble the character I wanted to draw, and I got the character of a child carrying a skateboard.
After the first character was finished, I continued with the second character that I placed behind the first character, and I started in the same way, using the guide lines to define the face first.
After getting the face shape, then I continued on to the body, I tried to make a slightly different character, so I made him look fat from the first character.
And I got the fat kid character with a baseball bat as my second character. At first I was a little confused about how to design her hairstyle, rather than later it didn't fit, I designed it with a beanie and you can see for yourself on the top of her head.
The next step is shading, and I think this step is a little tricky because if your shading level is wrong, then the image will look weird. Before shading, you must first understand the part that is exposed to light on the character you want to make so that all of the shading will cause a 3D effect on your character.
Apart from that, I also added a little squiggle under my character to create the effect of a plot or road, this illusion is also part of the shading.
And I got two characters in my drawing this time and this is the end result.
I myself am very happy to draw cartoons, I have learned since childhood starting from watching my favorite television broadcast, and every week they hold a cartoon drawing tutorial and I imitate it.
During school, I often hone my skills in drawing cartoons, and I am used to drawing and designing cartoons as I please because I myself rarely imitate other cartoons, besides being very difficult and requiring a lot of tools and materials, imitating other cartoons also makes me unable imagine as I like. Because for me, drawing requires imagination
That's all from me, I hope you like it and see you in the next contest.
