As a dentist (Dr Smrity Rauniyar ), I am constantly exploring opportunities to grow and serve people, and recently, I got the chance to participate in a 5-day community-based dental program conducted by Medora Belgium in Sauraha (CHC) Community Health Center, Nepal, and Padampur.
And I feel blessed as well as Privileged to work with these amazing MEDORA BELGIUM TEAM- Anita, Christiaan, Ilse, and Jessica, as well as my coworker Dr. Neeta, Yunesh, and health assistant friends and helpers.
Basically, it was based on patient screening, filling procedure, extractions, and scaling. And I really feel grateful for participating there.
📍 Day 1 — Sauraha, CHC
Despite the rainy day and chilly morning,
my colleague Dr. Neeta and I reached and met our colleagues, and started our day with screening, and then we proceeded to the treatment part.
📍 Day 2 — Padampur
The camp began with the welcome program and a warm welcome from the local community, with love and warmth. And then we shifted to screening, followed by scaling, restoration, and extraction.
📍 Day 3 — Padampur
Similar to Day 2, we continued our screening, filling, extractions, and cleaning of the teeth, providing the treatment we can give, and demonstrated the way of cleaning the teeth with slides and a presentation.
📍 Day 4 — Padampur
We continued with the same part as DAY 3 by providing good oral care and sharing oral knowledge from nursery to class 10, as well as we were able to educate their parents. Seeing the positive impact on the community made my day, and finally, we ended with certifications and goodbyes.
📍 Day 5 — Sauraha, CHC
Back in Sauraha, we continued the final day with the treatment and patient care. Goodbyes are hard, but we promised to meet again, we made beautiful memories lifetime with the Medora Belgium team, and ended with a certificate, medals, chocolate, and warm hugs
perfect conclusion to an unforgettable experience with good memories.
