No doubt all of us desire a better world for ourselves and loved ones. It hurts badly how that, instead of things getting better, the worse is what we see daily. Take for instance a community, clamoring for good government, elect a leader they considered fit for a position only to have him give them serious problems. When his/her tenure is gone, everyone may be happy thinking the new leader would make things better but unfortunately when the person comes, worse than what they received from the previous one is what they get.
This is how I can define what is happening in the world today, instead of things getting better, they get worse and the truth is it's not as if we are not trying our best, we are but results are not just coming forth. Could it be that we are not applying the formula correctly or we are only Clamoring for this change with our lips alone?
The truth remains that the world in itself is very healthy but the people in it are the ones sick. We are responsible for whatever we are going through in the world today. Our greed, selfish ambitions, competition, lust, and so on are the genesis of our ailments.
Nevertheless, if we are really ready to make the world a better place, a lot of things have to be done away with. It will just be like demolishing a house and rebuilding it afresh. once the foundation of a house is faulty, even if you spend the entire money on earth to fix it without visiting the root, you will only end up wasting your resources because it will definitely collapse again.
One of the things I think we need to do in order to make the world a better place is** we should work on ourselves** I have stated earlier that we are the problem of the world. If we all choose to work on ourselves, throwing away our wicked ways and doing the right things, the world would be a better place.
Imagine having a leader who fears God, is disciplined, selfless, and mass-centered with subjects who possess the same qualities. Won't the world be a better place? In one way or the other, we are contributing to the failure of the world. We keep complaining that our leaders are evil but let's come back to our level, are we also doing the right thing to make the world better? Are we also standing for the truth? A lot of us are only after our bellies, we don't care about tomorrow, and we think today is all that there is. If you collect that bribe and deny the truth from coming forth, the world will suffer it tomorrow. But if you refuse it and stand for the truth no matter the risk involved, you have contributed to the growth of the world. You might not see the impact instantly but give it time.
This change is something that has to begin with us. If our leaders notice that we are not their pets and we are not some kind of beggar, they will adjust as well. How can a reasonable citizen go to see a politician and the politician is throwing money for you on the ground and you are picking it up? Is that normal at all? Now you see that we are also at fault right?
Another thing we can do is groom our kids well, I know it will be difficult for some of us to change, we have grown to some extent but we can help the younger generation. We can cultivate the godly attributes into them. Teach them how to fear God first, how to love, and how to respect the dignity of others. A generation that successfully grows with such a mindset is sure to have a better world to live in.
The world would be fixed but it depends on us to make it a reality, you can start fixing the world today if you wish, but how? You may ask. By doing the right thing. Start setting examples for others to follow. You and your family can be the sheep among the goats. be the light in that local vicinity for others to see and follow.
