My Best New Year Celebration

The number of new years we have celebrated is equivalent to the number of our years. Another thing is as the new years comes, we are getting older and gradually drawing near unto our final destinations hehe.
I have witnessed a lot of new years and trying to figure out which of it was actually the best of the best is something very difficult for me over here. Honestly every new year seem to be the best for me, there's is this joy it comes with that I can't explain, probably the joy of being alive and that of a fresh beginning.
I am mostly an indoor guy, except a need arises, otherwise I am often in my room with my phone and my food hehe. It doesn't matter how special the day is, spending it inside is often the best way to enjoy it. So even on my birthday, Christmas, new year and the rest I am often inside my room. What could be in that room? Well I can't tell.
There's always this genuine peace I feel when I am alone. I find time to visualize my life, enjoy music and movies. I don't like involving my self with things that does not concerns me. Being inside saves me from unnecessary talks and people who ought not be part of my life, I don't know if you understand Sha.
But there's this new year that stands out in my head, I can't recall the year but I guess it was after my secondary school. Though I am an indoor guy but exploring places is one thing I love doing so much, I love discovering new environments. I don't want to be left out.
during those days I visited plateau state, I think just once and that was for my sister's wedding. Since then I have been craving to visit that place again because I love the environment, the cold and the way of life of the people there amazes me. Patiently I longed for that day and finally God decided to answer my prayers.
I think it was after my secondary, you know the break used to be very long before getting admission so during those periods I decided that I was going to spend the time at my sister's place at plateau, but my parents insisted that if I will go over there, it should be during festivities (Christmas and new year), I had no option than accept it that way. A begger has no choice afterwards.
It was a great sight right from the road, seeing those mountains and rocks beautifully arranged naturally is something to talk about. How those small rocks hold the bigger ones above them is something that has kept me in awe until date.
Initially my sister's husband promised to take us out on Christmas but it didn't work because he has something to do that day , so he postponed it to new year. Though we felt bad but when the day came, it was the best ever.
Being new to the place, he decided that he was going to show me places first before we proceed to where he had in mind. So after church service, we came home and had our meal from then we started out. He took me to Refil one of the happening places in that side, he showed me NTA office (Nigeria Television Authority) from there we went towards the new government house, that time it was still under construction , from there we went to the airport and he showed me a few things hehe , my eyes were just seeing things. I wished we just kept moving and visiting places like that. It was just so beautiful, but guess what? I forget all the road we took to those places, not my fault I guess .
While I was still wishing for the exploration not to come to an end, our car took another road and I was curious to see what the next surprise would be, firstly when we reached that place, I saw a lot of security personnel, with many check points then I knew the right time for the real stuff has come.
The place was so crowdy, there were a lot of cars parked outside already, when we drew near then I saw the signboard it was a zoo. Wow!! For the very first time in my life I would be seeing all the animals I only saw on television live.
Beloved, right from the gate I saw things that made me praised God for his wonderful creativity. I saw some damsels that looked like they were created on a Sunday, if you see beauty, ha! God is really wonderful. My sister told us to walk in group so no one gets missing because of the crowd.
We actually visited almost all part of the zoo and for the first time I saw a live Lion, python and elephant hehehe.. unfortunately I was not having a good phone then to capture them for record purposes. Nevertheless I saw🤣🤣 .That zoo was the best part of the day for me, after a long walk about in the zoo, we took a break, got a nice spot and ate them we came back home.
