Happiness is based on each individual perspective of the concept, what brings one happiness, might bring another pain. The concept of happiness puts me in a dilemma, here I'm wondering if humans are capable of being happy or do we even know what it means at all? why do we find ourselves doing the opposite of things that are meant to make us happy?
Happiness is a strange thing, it doesn't have a constant source or pattern. In the world of humans, survival is what drives a lot of people. We all claim to want happiness but the things we do to survive equally deprives us of it. One of the few basic needs that ensures the survival of humans, is money. The more stable we are financially, the greater the chances of being able to afford the lifestyle we desire.
The race towards financial stability is almost eternal, the more we have; the more we crave. It is an endless race and we keep saying to ourselves, the moment I attain this level, I will surely be happy. The moment we attain it, it doesn't seem to be enough, we don't feel happy about where we are, so we keep striving for more.
Money doesn't guarantee happiness but going without it doesn't guarantee happiness either. It feels ironic does it not? The reality is that, one of the reasons most people are not happy with their life is because they lack the money to afford the things they wish for. Now imagine telling such a person that money doesn't guarantee happiness, it would sound like a joke.

Our reaction is usually, "let me have it first, then I will decide for myself. How long this would take, no one knows. There are people who would chase financial stability their entire life and still not attain it. Life is full of challenges and drama, while a person is chasing after somethings, some other things are bound to happen along the line. No one's path is completely without trouble.
It is only when a person is lucky enough to attain a significant level of success, it is then people realize, there are things money can't buy. It is during a time like this, we start saying money doesn't guarantee happiness because when we finally have it, happiness still feels far from grasp. It definitely sounds sad, to chase money our entire lives, just to find out; it is not enough to make a person happy.
While racing towards financial stability, it is very easy to get lost in it. The rage, the obsession; it can blind a person. It clouds people's judgement. No one knows what is at the end of the tunnel, it is not clear. Instead of waiting till it is too late and discover money can't buy happiness, why not choose to be happy; it is not that hard. No matter how high a person climbs, there is still something left to achieve, there is no end to it.
Happiness does not depend on how much a person has, it is all about having the courage to choose to be happy, regardless of what we have.
