Why are we citizens if we do not know about the affairs of our country, the citizens are the bedrock of every country because without them there will be nothing called government, our leaders are just representatives who are supposed to give us feedback about what is going on and the progress of the country.
If not that we live in a Selfish era now, every citizen has the right to know what is going on in the country because that is where we live and we must know about the agenda of the country.
I was talking to a friend yesterday and I mentioned that the country wouldn't be in this critical Condition if our president had informed us about the removal of subsidy ahead, we weren't aware of it until the day he was sworn in as the president, the news was shocking to everyone because we weren't prepared for it, had it been we were informed everyone would have buckled their belt and prepare for the worse.
We believe that we are less concerned about the welfare of the country and neglected our rights, we are all concerned, and we need to know about some vital information that can bring development to the country, even if we need to be informed about anything that will happen so that we will prepare ahead even if it results in an awkward situation.
Citizens have the right to know about significant developments and decisions affecting the country, though it is not necessary to reveal everything, especially when it will hurt people's mental health or emotional well-being, not everyone has the heart or is strong enough to hold tragic information. Not every piece of information should be disclosed because there is some information that will be discussed under closed doors for the betterment of the country.
The only news that spread quickly in my country is the inflation of goods and increments in the price of fuel and food, it is news that moves very fast and circulates within a twinkle of an eye and will be effective that moment but the increment in the minimum wage is taking more than six years now and the issue has not been implemented, they know how to circulate bad news but keep the good news for the citizens.
When dealing with the citizens I believe the government should prioritize our well-being, and be transparent enough to us, that not all information should be disclosed For instance, in cases where national security is at risk, it's crucial to withhold certain information from the public to prevent unnecessarily panicking them. Moreover, in instances where transparency could lead to chaos, misinformation, or destabilization, it's better to limit the dissemination of information.
As the citizens we can not be poke-nosing to everything that is going on in the country, we only know the ones they want us to know, it is better to keep away from every information so that peace will reign, some secrets are better remain unsaid rather than want to know everything that is going on around us.
