It's an exciting moment again to bring my participation to the platform. Last week was a beautiful one and life fulfilling as well by God's. Thank God for His grace and mercies that kept me all through the weekend.
To culminate the week, the lord decided to bless us and answer our long prayers concerning rain. Immediately I returned from church, I took time to rest and when I woke up the cloud started gathering. The whole atmosphere changed and was dark. Suddenly the thunder and lightning started hmmm finally there was a heavy downpour yesterday. At least the weather was calm and ok for people to sleep very well even amongst my children. My friend too was happier than myself because he's gonna launch into his farm without alacrity.
The network was a bit challenging but I was able to access the topic for this particular engagement. Family timeout and the use of phones hmmm let me attempt to share with perspective. Family timeout are essential moment where the family meet together to either celebrate, eat or do something. It's very important for families to go on recess and the use of phone could either be a distraction or be an addition to spice the occasion.
During family timeout, everyone is expected to share do things in harmony. I could remember how I released my family to go on Christmas celebration last year. It was a refreshing moments because people that one couldn't see for a very long period of time and places that has been a while were all visited. Family timeout is a time for recreation. My kids visited museum and other attractive centres to see few things. The phone that my wife had was used to snap pictures which serves as evidence for many to refer back to.
The use of phone during family timeout is very good because of the functions it does. Phones can be used to record, snap and communicate during these moments. I don't see it as distraction if it can properly be managed. Phones can be used to communicate during such happy moment. For instance how would you describe the venue of the event for others? Phone will help to curtail certain expenses instead of travelling miles.
Phone can also be a distraction if it's not properly managed. How can others be celebrating while you are busy pressing your phone? It shows that you aren't participating very well. Imagine you asked someone what's your name and the person refused to answer or say a word and he's busy pressing phone...ha in Africa, you would be charged if care isn't taken. hahahaha
There shouldn't be any law to prohibit the use of phone phone instead a simple reasoning is required here. Have a scale of preference or a kind schedule. Give time to your family in order to strengthen the bonds and plan together as a family. During last Easter, I had the privilege to see all my siblings with their wives as well. It was a reunion and huge celebrations at large. I really minimise the use of my phone. I could remember it was difficult for me to even make a post during that time because I have my all to the family. Please try and have a balance life.
