I sincerely welcome all of us to another intriguing and interesting topic for the first edition of week 25 of the contest organized by the hive learners. Follow me gradually as I drop my little input on the subject of our discussion.
what are the effects of Romantic movies and novels on Relationship?
Before I look at the effects it's expedient that say little about what romantic movies and novels means.
Romantic movies connotes the expression of romantic love which is recorded in a place or theater and being transmitted on television or any show or cinema that people watch.
It brings out the expression of love in emotion, affection which arouses the interest of the audience towards emulating such virtues. It's stored in DVDs or VCD etc.
While the Romantic novel is synonyms to romantic movies the difference is just that novel are printed materials which could contain some fiction or so. It's in a book.
Romantic movies/books are most at times not real but fiction and assumption love stories.There are many effects that romantic movies and novels has caused to relationships and some produced negative impact.
Some of the romantic movies and novels create false and dramatized love which can't be practice in real life situation. In an attempt for young people to adopt some of such principles from the films it creates lots of trouble in relationship in so many areas. For instance some dresses and wears used might just be for the sake of stage performance but do you know that some would just pick it up as a new fashion which may not be comfortable for some in relationship.
What we watch, read has great impact on us either directly or indirectly that's why it is good to be careful of what you see, hear and touch. I have seen and heard of children trying to replicate what they saw on movie at home. To cut the long story short, they ended up in some illegal moral acts. This makes their relationship end up in shambles with parents, people and others.
I have heard of a lady that refused to get married because of the kind romantic movies she watched and how the guy treated the lady. She concluded that men are the same and that if he can do that to his girlfriend surely she too won't be exception. That became a serious stigma on her that kept off from relating with guys. Her relationship has been in disarray till date.
Conclusion
Romantic movies and novels is very good for the married and those who can control their emotions and feelings. It has helped and better some marriages mutually and even their sexual life (It builds relationship). Masturbation and some martial infidelity emanates from some of this film especially from the African region where I hail from. Some of our culture and norms prohibit some romantic behavior in the public however I think restrictions to age and emotional capacity should be attached.
