Greeting everyone, it's my first time on creative Sunday and am happy to share with you.
Since it's a creative Sunday I decided to use the things around me to create something beautiful.
My baby and I just celebrated our birthday, and instead of throwing away the board from the cake, I kept it to make something out of it.
I usually make fruit juice for my family and I add date fruit as one of the sweeteners but I just keep the seed from the date no idea what to do with it. today I would be using it to create an art of Basket.
There is always super glue in my house to mend my kid's shoes and mine too, if it's something small I can fix it.
In the local food market in my neighbourhood, I discovered a place where you can get very affordable Oil paint as low as N200(Two Hundred Naira) but in very small quantities they call them sample paint. That was how I got three different colours of paint for N600(Six Hundred Naira) Of course, I would be needing a brush to paint so I got a small brush of N100(One hundred Naira).
These are the list of items I used
- board from cake
- Date seed
- Superglue gum
- 3 different colours of paint I got from a retail shop inside the market
- Leftover accessory I used to design my cloth.
- Painting brush
THE MAKING PROCESS
I Clean the surface of the used cake board and painted it black, Then I leave it to dry properly.
I make a marks using pencil and ruler to make a square shape where I place the leftover accessories from my dress to create a shining base.
I also make a circle shape to make a round shape to place my date seed to create a basket shape.
Placing the date seed carefully to create a basket sticking the date seed to the board with super glue.
You can leave the creative work without adding paints, so it looks natural but I painted mine, to give it another colour and a bright, shiny look. I used Gold and silver colour.
Wow, isn't this beautiful?
This means a lot to me it brought back my secondary school memory, FINE ART STUDIO where I do a lot of painting and craft work.
This is in response to creative Sunday.
Thanks for reading and sharing my Creative-art.
All pictures are mine taken with my cell phone.
