IN YOUR OPINION WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO KEEP YOUR KEYS SAFE?
Your keys are like your password, ATM pin, and secret code. They are to be kept safe, but when they are very large like your HIVE KEYS, In my opinion, the best ways to keep your keys safe are Online examples, in your mailbox (Gmail, yahoo mail) google drive, and draft. Also offline where you keep the hard copies of your important document like your certificate, write them out in your save notepad, your computer Notes, or flash drive. You can also send it as a direct message to someone you trust.
HOW DO YOU CHECK YOUR RECOVERY ACCOUNT AND WHAT PROCESS IS NEEDED TO RECOVER AN ACCOUNT?
This question leads me to another question
Can a lost account be recovered on the hive blockchaian? YES it can.
How do you check your recovery account?
Firstly you go to your hive profile and click on the dotted box
Then you'll see other option pop up, you will click on keys and permission
You'll see Recovery Account, click on it, then you would see all the information on
Understanding recovery.
Here is a link in the information that takes you to the recovery page.
"https://recovery.hivechain.app" when you click on the link, it takes you to your Hive account recovery page.
WHOM DID YOU CHOOSE AS YOUR ACCOUNT TRUSTEE, AND WHY?
A Trustee is a trusted person that will assist in recovering your lost account. It should be someone you can be able to access even outside the hive blockchain.
NOTE: By default, we all have recovery account holder but if you wish to change your recovery holder to a more trusted person then you can.
For now my trustee is still the one given to me by hive blockchain.
LIST THE VARIOUS TYPE OF KEYS AND STATE THEIR USES CASES.
There are five keys in Hive blockchain and each of the five keys has different uses below are the keys and their uses.
Memo key:
Its the least powerful among the other keys, it is not used for major activities in the hive platform. It is only used to view the private chat, and to add a memo message to transactions.
Posting key:
Just as the name implies the posting key Is used to make posts on the hive blockchain, it is also used to follow other hivers, comment on posts, and reblog posts.
Active key:
The active key is used to carry out financial transactions on the hive blockchain, and to transfer and exchange tokens.
This is the key I used often cause when I want to transfer my HBD to savings, it will be requested by the blockchain to enable me to carry out my transaction.
Owner key:
Owner key is the most powerful key, it can be used to reset other Keys, in case an account is being lost the owner key can be used to recover your account.
Master key:
The master key, as the name implies, it's not found in the hive wallet like the other Keys, it is found in the message the hive block chain will send to you after creating an account, it is used to recover other keys.
Below is a screenshot that shows where you can get full details of your keys.
From your profile click on the three dotted box, it takes you to keys and permission, then you would see account keys click on it, then your keys will show.
All pictures are screenshot with my phone from my hive account profile.
