Men…… I'll give everything up and join the dead if this kinda job is the last one on earth…
Before my service year I got a job just to save up little money for NYSC.. and the job was actually 3 in one, the pay was also very attractive notwithstanding the hidden commission and tips involved. If we calculate all of that, it'll be roughly 250k a month. That's a juicy one on my paycheck don't you think?
So what's the job? Well the first one was "As a supervisor in all the hotel activities, including the bar"..... The second role was "As a receptionist, keeping records of all room bookings and transactions, controlling money in and out of the hotel". And the third,? Yap you got that right. "As a cleaner" ..
I know what you thinking "Why the fuck didn't they get different people assigned for these jobs?". To tell the truth the hotel belongs to my aunt, she's one cold hard woman who doesn't like spending money, despite the fact that she's swimming in it. Since you know the reason why, let's move on.
I love being the hotel supervisor and receptionist.. But when it comes to the cleaning part it's one stressful son of a bitch job I'll never go back to. I guess that's one reason I quit after my service year.
Why I hate the job
Well despite the fact I was mobbing floors and cleaning the rooms after each check out of both short time or lodging. The worst part is washing the bed sheets and bathrooms..
These were the disgusting parts. Here you see different annoying things, like different stains on the bedsheets, blood, sperm, and even shit stains.
The fact that some customers bath like animals splashing water all over, turning the room into a riverline area always makes me go insane and waste my precious time mobbing,
Some even mess up the toilets with Condoms and shity things.. Well as smelly as it looks i still got to clean if I want that pay check
Basically after doing these jobs I find it so difficult to eat a meal. Because the view of all these things I saw keeps ringing in my head.
Every morning I always sweep the hotel premises, before any other thing . Don't even get me started on Saturday sanitation. In general, working as a cleaner is definitely not an easy task, my hat is up for whoever is doing this kinda job.
Well I'm glad I quit even if the paycheck was attractive. Funny enough my aunt actually promised to double the pay after my service year as a full time supervisor in the hotel.. But nah i wasn't interested, rejected the offer the moment i heard half of it. and I regret nothing. In fact I'll do that over and over again just to avoid seeing rubbish..
My apologies if you find this post raw. To me I guess that's the only way I can explain the nature of this job….
Till we read again, Kudos!
