Hi all this is and this is my post submission for this week's contest.
Dealing with the low points of life is very difficult and if you are not treated properly by your near and dear ones then it's really difficult to come out of such a phase, you feel like you are in a living hell.
So this past entire year was a struggle for me I was dealing with so much and that too in various aspects of life, such as career, relationship, health, etc.
So What Happened?
The incident occurred somewhere around in June month of last year, I was waiting for the result of a competitive exam that I took to upskill myself and get better opportunities, but I couldn't clear it and because of it I lost my morale, and I was feeling down, at the same time I was given a report to prepare by my manager and it was supposed to be simple report according to the request and I did a good job creating the report but the real issue started when I submitted the report and it was time to present the report.
The task was simple and the report was supposed to be simple consisting of the performance of my fellow team members and I was told about the parameters to be included in the report, I created the report, and then when I shared the report with my manager to review it and then when he reviewed it he gave the report to my skip manager, which he reviewed and he told about the missing parameters and my manager added me in the meeting with skip manager.
My skip manager told me about the parameters that I missed and then he scolded me for the same, and he told me that it was affecting my performance and I should be more attentive towards my work and should deliver more, I should put more effort and deliver something extra to my work. And my manager just sat there in the whole meeting and told my skip manager that he would guide me regarding the reporting part and would brief me more clearly. He sounded like he will have to spoon-feed me the task and then I could complete it.
How Did I React?
The moment my manager and I came out of the meeting he told me that he couldn't say anything to the skip manager as he was not in the mood he was angry so it was no use to say anything to him. After hearing this there was just one thing in my mind that his mood and all those personal things were not because of me and not my problem, and the way my manager was just sitting quietly an didn't say anything.
After that incident, I made really clear what are the requirements and whenever I create the report I email it to my manager basically I reply back in the same email thread in which the requirement was mentioned and add CC the required people in the email, and this not with my manager I see through it that I follow the same with whom so ever I am dealing with.
That's it for today, hope this incident can help many people those who are starting their careers and joining MNCs, such practice can really help one to be safe and it shows that how aware and proactive you are regarding dealing with people.
