Every journey in life starts with a step and I am glad I took the step when I had the privilege to do so.
After a few weeks of engaging with other Hive Learner community members, the journey I started with the community made it to the list of the journeys that I embarked on, and never want to see the end.
This might look like I am exaggerating but it's not it, finding a community that accommodates me in a nation as big as Hive means a lot to me. Making your presence felt on the platform as a newbie requires hard work but I lost the motivation for the hard work until Hive learner came into the picture.
I have mentioned many times how I get demotivated to write when I am not getting the expected engagement on my content, the reward is important but engagement matters a lot to me because it is the driving force for every content creator to improve on whatever niche they choose to work on.
I actually don't know who brought the idea of the Hive Learner featured topics but the person deserves an accolade. The idea has helped not only me but many other members of the community in many ways.
Let me briefly explain how it has helped me
- The Hive Learner featured topics have helped me maintain a consistent engagement on the platform. I get three topics every week from the community and it helps me, coupled with other community activities to make at least one post every day. Aside from the consistent writing of article, the community gives me reasons and also encourage me to interact with other members.
Since I joined the community, I haven't encountered writer's block. The featured topics help beat writer's block and the things that can prevent me from writing now are factors beyond my control. For instance, I might be too busy, illness or other. With the featured topics, I always have the idea of something to share which makes writing very easy.
The featured topics allow me to learn from other writers' perspectives. I get to learn from them and it adds up to what's in my head.
The featured topics help me to improve my content as well. The need for improvement is always there and it helps me sit tight because I am always looking forward to posting in the community.
My engagement in the community has helped me make lots of friends on the platform. I don't know your definition of friendship but to me, it means being there for one another always.
Surprisingly, I haven't met any of the community members in reality but we treat each other like one big family. @Princessbusayo for instance is someone I have known before Hive but wasn't much of a friend until Hive. She is someone I can run to her DM to ask questions any time of the day and she will respond to me as long as she's online.
Should I speak about , @MeritAhama,
, or @Nkemakonam?
is not excluded so as @Olujay,
,
, and many others. These are people who will grant me an audience and are always ready to assist me as long as they are in the position to do so.
They call my attention to my mistakes and I take corrections immediately because that's one of the ways to grow as a writer. It's best to just call everyone in the community my friend because none of the members has ever turned me down before and there is nothing bigger in friendship than that.
I don't trust easily and I always give people the chance to prove that they can't be trusted but it's different with the HL community members. I trust them despite only interacting through the internet because they have shown to have the good interest of other members at heart and I guess that's because the foundation of the community was built on love and trust.
All the members of the community have helped me in ways they can't even imagine. It involves tips, comments, and their engagement somehow demands that I improve with every article I make as an entry for the community featured topics.
Sharing ideas is something I love about HL members, they always share success tip that has to do with blogging and whenever I make use of them, it helps.
Because of them, I see the reason to improve. I will be letting them down if they come and get the same standard of content always, I keep pushing my writing limits to ensure they find my article worth reading whenever my content pops up in their notification.
It's the last post for the HL anniversary and I want to say a big thank you to the moderators, members, and everyone involved with the community.
You guys are doing a great job and I can't thank you enough. To show my appreciation, I pledge to always work toward the growth of the community.
God bless you all.
