It would be my first time participating in the hive learners community task aside from the verification and this means a lot to me, I appreciate the moderators for doing a great job in helping members understand how to have good and quality engagement on the platform.
Every journey about life comes with the good and bad parts, my crypto journey so far has been awesome and also full of bad moments but the most important thing about life is not giving up on what you believe in.
Sometimes I wish I knew crypto currency earlier because I would be one of the rich guys out there but would I have believed in it as well if it hasn't become something the world is talking about now?
Just like I do think, many of us wouldn't grab the opportunity because it doesn't sound reasonable, how can my money become digital? Where is the wallet office in case I have issues? and so many other questions is would come to mind but today we have come to realize the opportunity in the crypto-verse and we are getting into it even with the smallest knowledge about it.
How it started:
My crypto journey started back in February 2018, I was desperately in need of a job after school. Every effort to get one was fruitless, I was talking to a coursemate about my inability to get a job when he told me that I could earn crypto from writing articles.
I asked what the crypto would be used for and he said I can exchange it for cash, I didn't believe a pinch of what he said. I thought he just trying to use me as a referral for some affiliate stuff but after a few days, I decided to give it a try. I contacted him and that was my first shot at crypto, I didn't believe that after a week; I was able to change a few bucks for cash.
I put more effort into it because it became my only hope for survival, I didn't care about other opportunities it could offer and all I wanted was just to earn for my upkeep. It did help a lot until I got a job and abandoned it, the job was time-consuming and I couldn't keep up with engaging online.
A new opportunity
In 2020, the same person who introduced me to Steemit told me about a platform called Uptrennd. It doesn't exist anymore but that was where I learned the basics of cryptocurrency, I got to know there was more I could do with my coins so I decided to hold the coins and I only changed a few times because I believed so much in crypto after getting to know more about it.
Even when Uptrennd 1up then reach it All time highest and I didn't my coin which happens to be my biggest regret since joining the crypto world, the lessons I learned that time has prevented me from making some mistakes anymore. Not long after that, the platform crashed and I lost all of my earnings except for some of the coins I change for less than $200 worth of Ethereum.
Still holding my earnings with faith.
I saw adverts for crypto groups so I joined with the intention of learning and making good use of my money but I ended up losing it all, meanwhile during the Uptrennd days.
, a mother the virtual world has blessed me with started a project in my community to help teenagers.
The fish farm project.
My salary then was what kept sustaining me because I lost my job as a result of Covid.
I was very busy with the farm work and didn't have time for anything crypto and when she invited me to join Hive I was reluctant, I knew I wouldn't be able to cope as a newbie since the farm work takes a lot of my time.
told me about Noise.cash and I joined, it was a simple platform where you post short content. That was easier and I started engaging, I got to know about Read.cash from there also which I also joined.
I started earning in Bitcoincash as a reward for my engagement, I met gurus in the crypto verse on the platform; the likes of
, and many others , I learned a lot from them which included trading, staking, blockchain games, NFTs and others. I was introduced to other platforms as well and my earnings made me expand my crypto knowledge in investing in some coins, some turned out to be great while I made a huge loss in some as well.
The joke
I saw a Hive gift on Twitter and the person requested for hive wallet to tip people, I went to trust wallet to add hive to my list of coins, copied the wallet address, and pasted it.
Everyone who commented laughed at me and I was so pissed that I decided to learn about the Hive platform.
Embracing a new opportunity.
I saw potential and didn't hesitate to join the platform, I wish I had joined when I was told to do it initially.
I was away for some time and decided to join again to earn and learn more about the crypto-verse. I am yet to understand some things which is one of the reasons I joined the Hive learners community and I will like to appreciate and
for been my guide since I joined the platform again.
