If we are asked, "What's the purpose of clothing?" I'm sure some people especially the male folks will not need to think too much to give a simple and direct reply, which is to "cover our nakedness" No doubt that was the initial purpose, but these days the reason has gone beyond that sole purpose, if not, why are some clothing not doing justice that answer, some people, especially my gender, dress and still feel as if they aren't clothed, also, have you seen the price tags on some clothing and ever wonder if these clothes are with fir the same reason you also put on your clothes, fashion is more than just a piece of apparel these days, it speaks class, tells your story, it a lifestyle, and so many, especially the celebrities are willing to pay to sustain the brand they have created for themselves through fashion.

Moving on, what about those that take ages to dress, husbands in the house will understand this one very well, as it's a common complaint in my local church, almost all men complain about their wives delaying them for Sunday service in the name of dressing to church, and if they are asked why they took so long, you will hear stories like "I don't have what to wear" or "I don't know what to wear" even though they have wardrobe full of clothes haha🤣
Someone out there is wondering how Glorydee knows a lot about this or am I even one of them? Well, my reply to that question is 50:50, on a regular day, meaning when I have no extra event to attend, just my usual activities, maybe a visit to the market or any other regular activities, my most go-to outfit is a jean and a top, maybe a favorite dress in between, since I make about 90% of my outfit, I'm not the kind of person that thinks too much or waste time before deciding on the outfit for the day. It seems like it's already planned out in my head what I'm about to wear, and maybe it is, my main purpose in putting on any outfit is to look smart and presentable at any time, my job as a fashion designer also expects this from me, but I don't take it as a duty, it comes to me effortlessly, before I went Into fashion designing, I was already a lady who likes to look prim and well presented, and it doesn't have to cost me a fortune to look good, as some still spend fortune and create a mess for themselves in the name of fashion. I have always had this adage In mind that "we are addressed the way we dress" and this has stayed with me for long and also impacted my dressing.

When it comes to extra special events or occasions such as weddings, housewarming, birthdays, etc.. I am always compelled to make a statement with my outfit, as this is how I easily attract clients without uttering a word, I let my outfit do the advertising, and it works whenever I hear them say, "Wow! I love your dress", I reply "thanks, I made them myself" while others don't even need to be told, they already know from my outfit, as the business discussion continues from there. I make all of my outfits when it comes to appearing for an occasion, and most times the planning and making process takes place months or weeks before D-day, and on D-day, I just rock my outfit to the event.
Does this affect me in any way?
Well, I would say my dress says a lot about me, and most times in a positive way, as what I wear serves as a form of an advert for me, and like I stated earlier, my sense of fashion is more like a lifestyle for me now, and No, I don't plan on changing anytime soon, as I still keep it simple and it is not of burden to me, rather it's my Identity.
