Education is the best legacy, so I heard right from my childhood days but the Nigerian education system these days has made a lot of youth not believe in that quote anymore, you won't blame them too much, a lot of them had high hopes and spent years bagging a degree that they are currently not putting to any usefulness, it becomes worst when we see those who did not pass through the four walls of a school, but have the money to buy certificate and take up political positions they are not fit for, sadly, that is the reality we face.

For any sector of the country to experience growth and constant improvement, there needs to be constant reevaluation, as time goes on because the world keeps evolving and it is mandatory for us especially the education sector to move with these changes, we recently had a youth program in my church and one disturbing topic was about how some courses we read in school these days have no future, as the use of AI has started replacing some jobs.
What should be added
There are lots of evaluation needed in our school system, from the removal of strike actions that makes a student spend more than the years required to study a course to a lot of others for the sake of this post, I will limit my reply to one addition and removal. So, if I'm to add something to the educational system, it will be to reevaluate some courses that are not relevant, or rather incline them to evolve with the moving trend, for instance, a man who used to be a supervisor at a factory, said some of the staffs got laid off and their positions replaced with machines, but aren't these machines designed or operated by someone, also there is need to add vocational skills into the school's curriculum that can be put, into practice, hence, graduates can have an entrepreneur mindset and even become employers of labor, instead of looking or
For white-collar jobs when they are through with their youth service.
What should be removed
Cultism
This explains itself, it is very saddening to know that this bad and derogatory act is still a big problem in Nigerian schools, it's shocking to know that even secondary school students are also committing this act, bullying and forcing the innocent students to be initiated as well, I have had an experience where a bright young promising student in the university then was forced to join this act, he tried to resist but the pressure was too much, he eventually was beaten to a pulp, and given hard drug which drove him insane and that was how his bright future got cut off and he had to drop out, a lot of students go through this in secret, and its not even hidden anymore because some big personalities we look up to In the country are the mafians funding and heading this act, whether in the secondary or unithe versity level, Cultism needs to be fought hard and eradicated from Nigerian school system.
