Happy Sunday dear friends on the hive, hope you are all having a relaxing weekend, as we reenergize for the new week.
It's another edition of the Hive Learners creative Sunday, and since Halloween is around the corner, I've decided to do something different for today's DIY, making horns, if you wish to add horns accessory to your costume this Halloween, then you are at the right spot. Don't you worry, it's very easy to do, and anyone can recreate this.
Though we don't celebrate Halloween here in my country, it's a common tradition in some countries, especially the English, the costume I made was used by the drama group in my local church, and it is to be worn by the cast acting as a demon, I just realized it can be useful to you if you do celebrate Halloween in your country.
Materials used
- black cotton fabric
- matching coloured thread
- chalk
- tape rule
- fabric scraps
Making Process
- I started by drawing a rectangle with my desired length for the horn, I used 6 inches, while the width is 3 inches
- Next, I marked the middle and made a curve, shaping my horn
- continuing, I cut out the shape of the horn, leaving half an inch all around which I sewed
- Turning it to the right side of the fabric, here you can already see the horn taking shape.
- Finally, I stuffed it with fabric scrap pieces, then created markings on the hoodie of the costume I already made,
- I carefully sewed it on the marked area, and here is the outcome.
Simple, right? I hope you find these steps easy to follow, will you be recreating yours, let me know, and if you find any part confiding, i'll be glad to explain further.
