Hello friends, how are you? and how's your weekend going?. It's the last edition of the week 95 prompt.
It's my first time posting in the community this year as I had a busy schedule this week. So I am wishing all the members of hive learners a happy new year.
It's the start of a new year and it is also a leap year. It's going to be a long year indeed and I know it will be an amazing year too.
There are so many events I am looking forward to this year like my birthday. It's March and I am thinking of organizing a small birthday party. Never since I am an adult I don't think I have but then looking at the financial situation then will determine that. Besides my birthday there's one so special to me I can't just wait, that is my clinical internship.
Financially, one event I am looking towards is getting a land property for myself. Except my online investments I really don't have a property or assets offline properties.
I'm a medical laboratory student currently in my third year in school and after this level I would be entering my fourth year. We will be writing our professional exam. This year is what makes you a med lab student. My other colleague would tell us that whoever doesn't pass this professional exam wouldn't be allowed to for internship in a hospital and you will be moved to another less competitive department.
The fear and the anxiety that comes with this exam is second to none. This is my dream come true and I won't joke with it for anything in the world. I am already preparing for it by reading at least thrice every week. The most fearful part is that you can either get an A, B or C. Getting a D is equal to failing. The exam is not hosted by my lecturers or my school but by the associate of medical professionals.
After the exams, we will be sent to different hospitals for an internship . That is another event I am looking towards. I have always been looking towards the practical aspect of my course rather than the theory. It makes me want to enjoy the course more. Helping sick people and hoping they get better. Another reason I love the internship is that we will be paid.
Even as students we would be paid during internship. In my country, it's hard to work and school and even other departments like sciences and engineering that go for industrial training. Not all companies pay them and even companies who pay, students find it hard to get it. But here we are not stressing about getting a place for an internship. Our school sends us there and we get tips while learning.
All these events are praying and looking up to after all these next year I will enter into my finals and then graduation and induction.
I'm so happy my dreams are gradually coming to reality and I know they will with the help of God.
