Paradise season 2: A closed story?

  Ok I finished the second season of "Paradise". My feelings are a bit mixed. The tension built during episodes 7 and 8 was awesome. All the happenings that gave us some anxiety to see until the end. But the cliffhanger for the next season was a bit disappointing. Well, if you are still watching, be prepared for some spoilers below, since it is going to be difficult to mention my feelings about the season end without mentioning what happened. So let's start.

  First feeling was that most of the stories had a closing. One of the side stories was about Agent Xavier Collins being fully reunited with his family. At the end of season 1 we discovered that his wife was still alive. So in season 2, he went through a quest in the outside world, leaving Paradise, the post-apocalyptic city bunker, to look for her. So he mostly left his 2 teenager kids in the bunker and went to this quest, which turned into his main quest in the TV show. It was an interesting quest to understand what the outside world looked like since we couldn't have had this idea during season 1. Let's say that he accomplished his mission, family reunited, and a closed story.

  The fate of Paradise was another closed story. For me that was a good buildup and good ending for the bunker city. A place built to be a copy of the outside world before the apocalypse. Xavier even cited that there were two Arby's there. Former president Cal Bradford (James Marsden) continues appearing in the show, of course, only in the memories of the inhabitants and he mentions that all empires, despite reaching their peak in prosperity one day, end. It is a good analysis and thought that makes sense. In his comparison, he even cited the Chicago Bulls dream team during the 90s in addition to the Roman Empire, etc., hehe. I would also add the Brazilian soccer team between the 90s and early 2000s; that period of time made me think that maybe Brazil would always win World Cups. Well, you can see what the Brazilian national soccer team looks like now, a joke.

  But as President Cal predicted, Paradise collapsed with our villain Samantha "Sinatra" Redmon sinking with the ship. During this season, we understand a bit how Link, the outside world leader who was trying to invade the bunker, was related. How was the link affected by Sinatra's actions before the apocalypse? But in the end there was a very contradictory piece of information adding to this relationship that was pure sci-fi, of course, and that it is linked to the third season. A quantum AI machine interacting and changing reality. This supercomputer could be the villain of the 3rd season, perhaps. You can see it as Thanos in the form of a machine, hehe.

  At least the easter egg of the cliff hanger was fun. The supercomputer would be in another bunker beneath Denver Airport's underground, and it would show the airport and the famous Blue Mustang statue. Why is it an easter egg? There are some real conspiracy theories about the airport and the horse statue, which is linked to the apocalypse. My general feeling was that the show could be ended in this season, but they invented a story to last a bit longer. But the show name is Paradise, in theory, Paradise is destroyed, unless the magic computer can undo the process. I will continue to watch it and see what happens in this 3rd season. The director, for sure, knows how to surprise us. By the way, Happy Power up day, did a 100 HP so we can continue going up ;)

 Ok, terminei a segunda temporada de "Paradise". Meus sentimentos estão um pouco mistos. A tensão criada durante os episódios 7 e 8 foi incrível. Todos os acontecimentos nos deixaram ansiosos para ver o final. Mas o gancho para a próxima temporada foi um pouco decepcionante. Bem, se você ainda está assistindo, prepare-se para alguns spoilers abaixo, já que será difícil mencionar meus sentimentos sobre o final da temporada sem revelar o que aconteceu. Então vamos começar.

 A primeira impressão foi que a maioria das histórias teve um final. Uma das histórias paralelas era sobre o Agente Xavier Collins se reunindo completamente com sua família. No final da primeira temporada, descobrimos que sua esposa ainda estava viva. Então, na segunda temporada, ele embarcou em uma jornada pelo mundo exterior, saindo de Paradise, a cidade-bunker pós-apocalíptica, para procurá-la. Ele deixou seus dois filhos adolescentes no bunker e partiu para essa missão, que se tornou sua missão principal na série. Foi uma jornada interessante para entender como era o mundo exterior, já que não tínhamos essa noção durante a primeira temporada. Digamos que ele cumpriu sua missão, a família se reuniu e a história se encerrou.

 O destino de Paradise também foi uma história encerrada. Para mim, foi uma boa construção e um bom final para a cidade-bunker. Um lugar construído para ser uma réplica do mundo exterior antes do apocalipse. Xavier até mencionou que havia dois restaurantes Arby's lá. O ex-presidente Cal Bradford (James Marsden) continua aparecendo na série, claro, apenas nas memórias dos habitantes, e menciona que todos os impérios, apesar de atingirem seu auge de prosperidade um dia, chegam ao fim. É uma boa análise e um pensamento que faz sentido. Em sua comparação, ele até citou o Dream Team do Chicago Bulls dos anos 90, além do Império Romano, etc., hehe. Eu também adicionaria a seleção brasileira de futebol entre os anos 90 e o início dos anos 2000; aquele período me fez pensar que talvez o Brasil sempre ganhasse Copas do Mundo. Bem, você pode ver como está a seleção brasileira de futebol agora, uma piada.

  Mas, como o Presidente Cal previu, o Paraíso desmoronou com nossa vilã Samantha "Sinatra" Redmon afundando com o navio. Durante esta temporada, entendemos um pouco como Link, o líder mundial externo que tentava invadir o bunker, estava relacionado. Como Link foi afetado pelas ações de Sinatra antes do apocalipse? Mas no fim, surgiu uma informação bastante contraditória que se somava a essa relação, pura ficção científica, é claro, e que está ligada à terceira temporada. Uma máquina de IA quântica interagindo e alterando a realidade. Esse supercomputador poderia ser o vilão da terceira temporada, talvez. Dá para imaginá-lo como Thanos em forma de máquina, hehe.

  Pelo menos o easter egg do suspense estava Que divertido! O supercomputador estaria em outro bunker subterrâneo do Aeroporto de Denver e mostraria o aeroporto e a famosa estátua do Mustang Azul. Por que isso é um easter egg? Existem algumas teorias da conspiração reais sobre o aeroporto e a estátua do cavalo, que está ligada ao apocalipse. Minha impressão geral era de que a série poderia terminar nesta temporada, mas eles inventaram uma história para durar um pouco mais. Mas o nome da série é Paradise (Paraíso), em teoria, Paradise é destruída, a menos que o computador mágico possa desfazer o processo. Continuarei assistindo para ver o que acontece nesta terceira temporada. O diretor, com certeza, sabe como nos surpreender. Aliás, feliz dia do Power Up! Consegui 100 HP para que possamos continuar subindo ;)
