Hello Everyone!!! I hope you are having a great time over there? It's really nice to see you visit my blog today and I must say I'm really happy to have a great personality like you visiting my blog today š. Thank you once again š
There's an ubiquitous saying that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!". Anytime i hear people making use of this quote and anytime i come across this statement, I always have this sense of feeling that this particular quote was created on my behalf due to the some experiences i had back then during my school days.
I used to be one of the non serious student in my secondary school back then. All I used to do was to play, eat and sleep without any thought of reading my books or even doing my class assignments since I will be able to copy other serious students assignments for submission. I became so obsessed with this habit until I got into my final stage in secondary school (SS3) and this was when I began to have develop a change in mindset after attending series of motivational programs organized by some officials and i got to realise that most of the successful business men who attended the function all did well in their O level results.
You know how you feel when you just finished listening to motivational speakers, your mind automatically develops that sense of passion and inspiration which is transmitted into your brain making you feel you can achieve anything you desire to achieve. I was feeling exactly that same way for the time being but unfortunately after some weeks i lost the motivation to achieving my goals as a secondary school student.
Fast forward to the D Day
I could remember seeing most of my colleagues running helter-skelter with their books, pen and calculator. Some were even reading while walking and it was at this moment i realized I already fucked up because my final O level examination would be starting less than a week. I had to start attending some tutorials and I also had to join the serious student gang just to start reading my books before the exam.
To cut the long story short, I noticed my whole body was shaking when I walked into the examination hall to take my first O level examination. It was actually my first time taking such examination though so it pretty cool to feel nervous as a first timer. I completed the examination of all subjects i registered for and we were all hoping for good results since our performance will determine our next academic career into our desired higher institution.
Finally!
I got a notification from our WhatsApp group that the result were out. The same way some people felt very happy and proud of themselves was also the same way some other people felt sad and were regretting. I actually didn't know my fate since I haven't checked my result.
I summon the courage to go check my result and it was quite unfortunate I didn't do well. I felt very bad about this. I perform very woefully in Mathematics and some other core science subjects. My parent and friends also felt very bad about my poor performance.
Failure is a Step to Being Successful
No one loves to be called a failure even though it wasn't easy telling some of my family and friends about the situation. I had to register for O level another exam and in this case I am starting from experience and not as a failure. I started studying my books such that I was able to complete lot of O level text books just to get prepared for my last chance. I could remember attending tutorials upon tutorials just to make sure I am already prepared before the next examination announcement.
I did the second optional O level exam and I was able to perform excellently well. My failure experience really brought out the best in me by igniting the passion and motivation to achieve success in my academic career. This O level mathematics failure was also known as the best student in Mathematics during his 100L days in Higher institution and he was also celebrated as the best graduating student of his Department in the faculty of Engineering. Yes, that's me.. All thanks to God for making me achieve such goals even though there are more goals to achieve in future and i definitely know God will make it easy for me provided i keep doing the right thing without giving up.
Summary and Conclusion
No matter what you go through in life, always remember you can always achieve greatness. I never knew I would achieve what I have today if not the O level failure experience i had back then in my secondary school. It's great to see that I'm now be celebrated today and this is why you must always ensure you keep trying until you get celebrated by the world.
