Are you sure you can get this thing done? Was the question I heard from my foster father I was living with sometime last year and because I wanted to prove myself worth to him, I said Yes with so much confidence and pride little did I know the question was to trap me, lolz. I know you are already wondering what it is my father asked me right? Well read on to get the full story.
About two weeks when I started living with my foster dad and his wife, I couldn't help but noticed that my dad liked being organized and presentable all the time and one of the things he likes doing is to always be very careful when selecting his outfit for each day especially for days when he has an appointment. He always likes preparing his things on time because he hates going late for meetings he has one duty or another to carry out.
All of these things made me love the fact that I get to be his foster daughter. He always likes keeping his clothes well watched and ironed and kept in the right place and you know, I also love doing these things. One day, when I came back from the shop, my mom's shop where we sell different things, I went upstairs, to drop some things I brought from the shop and also to refresh myself. Before going upstairs, I already went to the kitchen to prepare dinner and wash the dishes and after I finished we all ate and that was when I went upstairs.
After taking my bath and freshened up, our electricity came up and it has been a while since they last brought the light. With excitement I ran out of my room to go get my phone charger from downstairs because my phone battery was almost dead, the electricity was restored at the perfect time and best day I will say, because dad has said he was not going to put on the generator that day. Coming back upstairs after getting my charger, I saw dad trying to iron some of his clothes. The truth is I was praying deeply that he doesn't tell me to do the ironing because I was very tired.
Guess what? My father was a really Clever man so he used it against me, lolz. Hope...uhmm...sir I replied, my dad was the one calling. Do you even know how to iron men's clothes? As the innocent me and good girl that I am I said yes but my dad was not feeling convinced so he asked the question you saw at the beginning this post, ARE YOU SURE? because I don't want you to spoil my clothes for me, he added. I repeated my answer again, YES because I know how to, hehe. Little did I know that he was just asking those questions to dare me and also to get me to help him.
He asked me to help him iron one of his trousers which I did and he was impressed with my work but hey, I was not really happy I admitted that I was good at pressing men's wears because that was how I became the one pressing most of his clothes till I left, hehe. If I had lied that I was not good at pressing men's wear he won't have asked me to help him with the first and never at all. Coming back from the shop, most times I feel very tired but then dad didn't give me much opportunity to make excuses when he ask me to help him with his clothes.
Well, for one thing I was able to become better at pressing men's clothes but then because I don't get to do it the time I want, I regret ever saying the truth at that time.
