Everyone is blessed with something unique and for me I'd love to call that their talent. Although some have refused to accept the fact that they have something that they are good at because they see it as too small compared to that of others around them. Well, I don't want to say much about that now because for today, I'm going to focus more on sharing with you all how I discovered I had something I was uniquely good at (talent).
I was privileged to have discovered my talent at a very young age because like most of you know, I did not get the opportunity to leave with my mum for a long time because when she left I was just four and my dad had to take myself and my siblings to live with grandma at the village because he was not doing well financially. While staying with my grandmother, I discovered I was very good at farming even when that was my first time I had been to the farm. My siblings also went to the farm but it was obvious that I enjoyed doing it more compared to them.
Well, that was not really the talent that I discovered though but it was part of it. Few years after, when we went back to live with my dad, I saw how my dad was always waking up very early in the morning to prepare breakfast for us to take to school so we don't get to spend too much money for lunch at school. My dad is an engineer and this type of work as you know are strength taking but yet my dad was not acting like he was ever tired when we are around him until one night when I woke up to go ease myself and I saw my dad just sitting down in the dark with his hands on his chin.
From that day onwards, I decided that I will always wake up whenever I see him waking up to do anything for us and truly I was able to always get up around the same time he wakes up and from that point onwards, I started learning all the things I see him do because then I was not sure if I will be able to do them because my dad was pampering us too much. But somehow, there was something in me that just want to help out at least by keeping him company outside in the cold morning.
After watching my dad for two weeks, I started doing most of the things myself and whenever he comes back from work, he will always get me something for doing the work so well, he was mostly surprised though because he never expected me to learn so much in just a short period. I kept on getting better the more I did the chores, the laundry and sometimes cooking and all this happened when I was 7-8 years old. At 8 I was able discovered that I had the talent of keeping a place in order no matter how scattered and disorganized it might be. The most unique part of it is, I always know where everything fit even though I'm not from that household, I don't know if you understand, hehe.
Now I always find myself having fun when cleaning and keeping a place tidy, it has grown with me and I so much love doing it because there will surely be a difference when I'm through and people are always amazed by what I do but that doesn't mean that I'm a professional, no I'm not but I do love it when I'm doing it. Because of my love for what I do, I was privileged to work for someone as a cleaner early last year and the person was very satisfied and impressed with my work because it was a duplex and I succeeded in cleaning the whole place in less than three weeks, a house that have not been cleaned for almost 3 months, you can imagine.
I will drop my pen here and leave you to do the rest, hehe. See you at my next blog.
