Newbie Task 6- Blockchain games

Hello everyone this is the sixth task of the Newbie Initiative organized by Hive learners and sadly the initiative would be ending soon, if you are a newbie I advise you to apply for the next program because it is worth it.

In this task we were asked to:

1. Mention 2 features that make blockchain games different from other games?
2. List 4 Games on Hive Ecosystem and include their in-game currencies.
3. Are NFTs important? If yes, what do you think are their use cases in Blockchain Games?

Blockchain games are not the conventional games you play on your phones where you don't earn anything, you only exhaust your battery, data, and time and you gain nothing in return, in blockchain games you play to earn, some you don't pay any registration fee and you earn in return that’s a big win if you ask me.

While you play blockchain games for fun you earn in-game cryptocurrencies and NFTs alongside and guess what? you can trade these in-game cryptocurrencies.

Just like the various communities on Hive have their community’s tokens, blockchain games also have their tokens and these tokens are what you use to carry out any form of transaction while playing the game.

What are NFTs?

NFT stands for ‘non-fungible token’. Non-fungible means that something is unique and can’t be replaced. By contrast, physical money and cryptocurrencies are fungible, which means they can be traded or exchanged for one another. Every NFT contains a digital signature which makes each one unique. NFTs are digital assets and could be photos, videos, audio etc

Importance of NFTs

1. NFTs help to retain and verify ownership of art minted on the Blockchain.
2. NFTs help to reduce fraud.

Rising Star game is technically the first game for me to play on this blockchain. I have seen so many gamers on this platform and I see how they talk about the various games they play with so much enthusiasm, I have been wanting to go down the gaming path for a while now but I have been skeptical because I had no one to guide me, but I am glad that The Newbie Initiative shared a detailed tutorial for the game courtesy of Hive account@ksam and I used it as a guide.

From what I discovered, I think this game is the simplest game on the blockchain, anyone can attempt it without thinking too hard, and above all it is fun. The game is mobile-friendly, don’t have a PC? Fear not you can use your mobile phone to play it and it works perfectly well.

The more mission you play the more level you attain and we have different missions. If you are a lover of music trust me you will enjoy it more.
Although I encountered some issues while playing the game but I think that could be easily fixed.
