This Summer Proved Planting Trees Works — So Why Are We Still Cutting Them?

is it true that most of these summer days aren't as heated as they were back then, I've this feeling that summer isn't as hot as it was back in the days.

most of these days it rains and we have had the coolest day of the summer never seen in a decade or so and it is all happening in just one city where you can say we have made a lot of progress on first thing and that is our environment.

The billion tree tsunami did wonders in this city

A couple of years ago when ik was the president our city Islamabad had this one project where they were supposed to plant everywhere and called it billion tree tsunami.

Everyone knew what was going around and appreciated that, this city is so far the greenest one in the entire country and that is it's beauty.

Perks of living in capital is that you'll see initiatives for people that'll be beneficial for coming generations and changes that have happened throughout the years I've seen it all while growing up

And this one tree project has had most impact because I remember back when I was a kid and had to go from school to home we used to sweat like hell because it was so hot you'd literally pass out if you weren't drinking enough water. The dizziness and everything was in the air but now it's changed.

Nights are so cold that I have flu because whenever I comeback home at night on bike it just become the reason why I have cough

And living under a fan at night and waking up to a sore throat is another thing.

So have decided to stick with the blankets during the peak summer days, believe it or not.

It is all because of the tree's cause everywhere else it's way too hot and people are crying about it.

I believe we should plant more trees rather than cutting it down. You're suppose to increase tree population but since the new government took over they have plans to build skyscraper in this city and are cutting down tons of tree's now which is sickening and no one is speaking about it cause they are naive.

I'd do whatever it takes to plant more tree and save them from people who are cutting it down for their own benefit. We shouldn't trust a government that isn't eco friendly.

Yet again I'm surprised how this summer is going so far without those heatwaves and being grateful that somehow there's something that is positive about this place but also deep down I'm afraid there are people who want to tear this thing up.
