Fake news are mostly spread through the internet,the more exposed you are the more insecure it is,many bloggers intentionally spread fake news just to earn some token to their pocket.
Also some people actually derive enthusiasm in spreading fake news,I have seen cases of such situations.
In Nigeria to be precise, April 1 is known as "april fool" ,where people feed themselves with fake news,the victim not being aware while some may not be a victim.
There was a particular year,maybe some years ago,I can't remember vividly. A group of friends decided to feed their friend with a fake news, stating his mother is on sick bed and urgently needs his presence.
This really got his attention and had to leave school immediately without him knowing it's just a lie, he Left school and on his way home, he had a ghastly accident and lost his spinal cord, it was a painful story,later to discover it was a false news.
There has been alot of fake news incidence leading to disaster,and I was once a victim, thank God the disaster wasn't much.
It was on April 1 day, when I was called by my friends how I failed my exams, claiming the results are out and being pasted on the notification board.
At first I thought it might be April fool until I confirm if others have been checking theirs too,to confirm if results are really out and it was true.
I lost control of myself immediately and I was unconscious, I had to rush myself and took a bike, telling the bike man to run as fast as he can to school premises, on my way we had a minor accident which broke my wrist and I lost my second phone, it was an experience I never wish to remember again but I just have to share it here.
On getting there, I checked the board and my result was even one of the best result, then I knew it was how we use to trick each other, I kept quiet knowing I had also done it with each of them.
They came to say sorry but it was too late,I had already lost a phone and my wrist is broken.
I warned them and that was the last time they tried it with me.
