Hello hivers, welcome to another episode of week 18,I guess we're having a Great weekend.
Thanks to admin and moderators for bringing up this fascinating topics.
This topic has alot to do with my life experience, different jobs I have encountered had really made me what I am today, the unbefitting jobs
I had done taught me a lot of things,it moulded me ,but mehnnn...it wasn't easy for me guys, but thank God.
THE WORST JOB I HAVE EVER FOUND MYSELF IN
I will start with the worse job I have done in my life, but sincerely there had been many bad and worse jobs I have found myself in due to the fact that I wasn't born with silver, right from my primary school days..lol...up till now,but I will talk about the worst one, that made me felt worthless and valueless.
This was when I when I went to work in a biscuit company as a casual worker:
I am a kind of person that likes exploring and getting out of my comfort zone, while I was in the varsity I attended a sound and music school at evenings and weekends,I was able to pay for the music school because the job I had on was quite paying despite it was kind of stressful but I kept pressing on.
To cut the long story short, while I was at the final year in varsity and in music school in 2019,I lost the job due to COVID-19 palava, they couldn't afford to pay me anymore and other employees too, so they had to sack us.
That was where the problem started,I had no job on me but I had to pay for projects, tuition fee and the likes ,you know as a final year student, and also have to pay for my certificate in the music school, the landlord was also on me due some months I was owning in arrears.
I was confused and helpless,my dad fell sick too,the pressure was on me due to that I had to go to a friend and beg for a job.
That was when I was introduced to the job in a biscuit company where we were to produce biscuits,I never knew hard it was gonna be so I just took it, because I needed money.
Firstly the pay wasn't satisfactory but I had to manage it.
The most annoying part was that it was a shift work
The morning shift(from 6am -2pm), afternoon shift (2pm-9pm) and night shift(9pm-6am).
The shift was based weekly,a week for morning,a week for afternoon and a week for night, which includes sundays too.
There was no time to rest,I risked my life for morning and afternoon shift, because I will have to leave home around 4:30am so as to meet up with time, because I have to board the workers bus because it was cheaper but we would have to lap in other a person to share the transport fare with...lol,an 18 passenger, that would be filled with 36 passengers sometimes 40 because some people would sit on the engine while some hang to the door.
Likewise the afternoon shift which it was until 11pm I reached home.i was always alone on the street at night,I could remember a night I was attacked but thank God for the nightguards who saved me.
To talk about the regards for workers,it's so improper, the top managers treated us like slaves, like we are nobody.i could remember a man I worked under then...mehn he showed me hell,I tried my possible best to please him but all didn't satisfy him,he loved to scold me.
There was a time I fell sick, a serious one, which I need to be hospitalized,I asked for 3 days off,but he said no,not that they would pay me for the off-days but he said he could only give me a day,I pleaded but he didn't concur,he made life so hard for me,my parents asked me to leave but I couldn't I had no other choice.
I had to endure and work for 6 months because I had to raise up the fee, which I did and left the place.
I FINALLY FOUND A BEFFITTING JOB
After I left the previous work when I raised money for tuition, projects and music certificate, thank God I got all.
I graduated and while I was still struggling to get a nice job,I got a call from one of my colleagues in music school,he asked if I could work in another state as a studio manager because there was vacancy, the previous manager travelled out of the country.
Wow! I was amazed and excited ,I said yes and he connected me instantly, the pay was good and likewise it was my profession.
I went there and started work immediately, fortunately for me I got linked up with one of the popular artist in the State and he connected me to a private school where I take them music as per-time teacher on Tuesdays and Fridays, the pay was also good, I had to schedule my time and make things work.
I love my schedule being tight, and I also love the work,it doesn't give me stress.
I was the manager , there was nobody to scold me,the owner of the studio had many other studio's over the country and doesn't even stay in the country, once a while he calls and ask how things are,he would even call me to ask if I needed anything.
This job really gave me peace of mind and I was able to sort out expenses that comes my way, took care of my dad till he gets better, and my siblings too are doing fine.
sometimes it's not about HARDWORK it's just GRACE.
