Fridays always make me pause and reflect. It’s like the week slows down just enough for me to look back and ask myself, “How did I spend these days? What did I learn? What am I grateful for?”
Growing up in Agege, Lagos, life wasn’t always easy. I remember times when I would look at others and wonder if my own story would ever change. There were moments I almost gave up, but somehow, God kept giving me reasons to keep moving.
Today, as I sit with my thoughts, I realize something: I may not yet be where I want to be, but I’m grateful for how far I’ve come.
I’m grateful for life itself because many started this year and are no longer here.
I’m grateful for the little wins, like learning new skills and pushing myself to grow.
I’m grateful for the people in my life who still believe in me, even when I sometimes struggle to believe in myself.
This reflection is my reminder that progress doesn’t always shout. Sometimes, it’s quiet, steady, and unnoticed until you stop and look back.
So on this Friday, I choose gratitude over complaints. I choose to thank God for life so far, even though I know there’s still so much more ahead of me.
