Hello everyone!
Living an illness-free life is very hard, even with the best hygiene measures in place. There is every tendency for something to be detrimental to what is supposed to have a positive effect on the body, either in excess or in a quantity that is too small to sustain oneself. Well!!! This happens, but most times we find ourselves in situations where we feel there is no need to visit the hospital. There are situations where we can't just depend on drugs but must definitely go to the hospital for proper health care.
A few months ago, after my first semester exams, due to how examination periods always look, no food and surviving with just cash is too demanding, especially with me not seeing my parents for a very long time. At this point, I don't see any need to stay back after my examinations. It is always like using the speed of light to travel home, though I also need to run my business back home, which was fully taken care of even in my absence. Going home that break, I felt like I was still in my school environment, where I don't experience mosquito bites. Funny enough, I learned this the hard way.
Reaching home, my mom informed me about what they were experiencing and gave me advice that I should make good use of the mosquito net that keeps us free of mosquitoes. This is me, who has never been a fan of sleeping under a mosquito net due to how discomforting it is based on the heat and, most times, the itchy nature of it. I believe some of us who have had such experiences can attest to it. Considering all this, I didn't think about the aspect of being exposed to Malaria parasites but was only focused on having a good night's rest.
In a few days in my village, I started experiencing changes in my body system, not knowing Malaria was fast approaching. When it became prominent, I saw myself really struggling just to have a normal day with proper feeding due to my no longer having appetite. When situations got more serious, I rushed down to the hospital, and I was diagnosed with a malaria parasite.
That was when the treatment started, and later on, I became healthy again, but this time around, I always covered the mosquito net, not minding how hot the room can be. In the hospital, I felt already like leaving the premises because everything felt irritating for me. The smell of drugs and other patients experiencing one thing or the other.
The nurses were nice although some people will always be who they are.
