Hello to my Hive Learners Community! Welcome to my blog. Today I will share my perspective on how cash rewards changed the dynamics of my educational career and why cash rewards in an educational system are necessary. I will share my personal story with you.
Education is the backbone of every developed country. All the developed countries have a good literacy rate. There is no other way except acquiring education to compete in the world. But education does not mean to obtain a specific degree. In my opinion education without skill does not mean a lot. If your educational system is not producing skilled people then you are not on the right path as a nation. In the education system, if the Government and private sector introduce an incentive system means a reward system then it will prove to be a game changer for society. I think a cash reward incentive is a fabulous tool for attracting students to get good grades and achieve their desired goals.
Here I will share my educational story that how cash rewards changed the dynamics of my educational career. I was born into a poor family. My father was a labourer. He has five sons and two daughters. We were living hand to mouth because we all used to rely only on my father's income. I used to study in a government school because my father could not afford the expenses of private schools. In simple words, he did not have enough expenses for my studies in a private school.
I started studying in a government school. I still remember when I stood 2nd in my 5th class, my teacher Ikramullah Khan awarded a me cash reward of 300 PKR. Which was a good amount at that time. It was 1999 and now is 2024, which means 25 years ago 300 PKR was a good cash reward. When he called me on stage and awarded me a cash reward, it was a memorable day of my life. This cash reward motivated me to continue my studies. Otherwise, I quit my studies because my parents were not ready to continue my studies. It was a confidence booster for me. I got admitted to class six in the Government High School Pai Khel and passed my matriculation from there. I continued my studies and cleared my bachelor's degree with good marks and decided to take admission in B.ed ( Bachelor of Education)
(A professional degree for the appointment of a government teacher in Pakistan). Again in B.ed, I awarded a cash reward of 30k PKR as a stipend. This cash reward motivated me to continue my studies and helped me financially. As a result of this motivation, I worked hard in my studies and acquired the first position in my B.ed class. After that, I passed my matriculation and got a good job in the government sector. That's how cash rewards motivated me and helped me throughout my career to complete my studies and achieve my goals.
So I conclude that cash rewards are necessary for an educational system to grow. The poor students like me are the beneficiaries of the cash rewards system. Now I think that if I had been motivated at that time by these cash rewards, Maybe I would have been unable to continue my studies.
