It's fun to have siblings around and won't feel bored but the disadvantages is more. In my own case I have 7 siblings and the problem is the food is usually limited. When it comes to my siblings, you will find the highest food consumer but still slim, you find the fastest eater due to we eat together in one plate. There is always competition to eat more and satisfy yourself. Within few minutes food have finished due to if you are fast enough you will be satisfied for eating large quantity of food more than others.
I and my second sister
I was the second child but the first daughter, for the next 6 years it was just I and my 3 siblings before after those 6years and within three years gap, we had up to 4 more siblings making us 7 in number. Was l happy, no l usually wish we were just 4 or 5 not 7. When I thought it has ended another one came out making us 7. It was difficult to take care of my siblings. I was a renowned washing machine, always washing napkins and baby's cloth. I was always carry baby.
There was an incident that happened to me while I was in primary school. My mummy left I and my second baby sister at home, my other siblings weren't at home and my mum needed to go to market, so she locked me inside with my baby sister who was 6 months old. She was chubby while she was small and very heavy to carry. Lucky before she left my baby sister was asleep. With no game to play, nobody to talk to, no light to watch movie, I fell asleep too. Waking up to my baby's sister cry. I tried to carry her, though heavy but I still tried. She was still crying I didn't know what to do, I started crying too. Both of us were crying. I tried to go outside but my mum locked us inside and left with the key. Hmmm, I went to the window to check if anyone will pass by, I saw one Aunty, l called her telling her my baby sister was crying she just waved and passed. I kept on crying as my baby sister kept on crying till my mum came back. My people that was how it happened, l will never forget that day.
Having large number of siblings, have made my needs forfeited just to take care of others needs. Most times if you want to collect money from my Dad for school neccessity. His reply goes this way "l have not paid your sister's school fees, this one called me that his foodstuffs have finished, this one said he needs to pay for this" I just have to walk away with sad face and think of how to solve my problems. Thank God for growth, they are all grown up now.
