Hello everyone so friends hope you all are good and safe today in this blog I will show you a 1800 AD PLACE in India,Lucknow so guys enjoy this blogs
This is the starting point of the Residency and this is also called a British Residency and Residency Complex this residency place is located in heart of the city in the vicinity of other monuments like Shaheed Samarak and Tehri kothi and high court building.This Residency was started in 1798AD and completed in 1814AD.
**TREASURY BUILDING**
The Treasury house situated right across the ‘Baille Guard Gate’ is a double storied building decorated with Rajpoot and conventional Awadh Arches
Constructed in 1851 with the coat of ₹16,897/- it was used as treasury in British period but during the war of 1857 the central part of building was used as an ord nance factory for manufacturing Enfield cartridges.It suffered extensive damage in the seige of 1857.
Dr. Fryrer’s House
This building is named after Fayrerwho was resident surgeon during the siege of 1857.The house was built on a slope with a garden on both side one higher other than the other. On the Residency Side there was one floor and and the city side were two floors owing to the lower level of the ground that size. There was a suite of rooms from which the doors opens into the garden and staircase in the rooms above. In one of these rooms was swimming bath and other room for general purpose there was also a tehkhana or underground room for hot weather provided much needed refuge for the womens and childrens. Sir Henry Lawrence was shifted to this building after being mortally wounded on 2nd July Who succumbed to his injuries on 2nd July 1857.
Basically this is the kitchen house in the residency all foodie work is happened here.
So guys this is old historic place everything here is old and traditional way as you can see the stairs is made by wooden and the building is made up of rocks the residency has been maintained as it was at the time of the final relief and the shattered walls are still scarred by the cannon shot ever since the Indian Independence little has changed.The ruined building is now surrounded by lawns and flowerbeds. The cemetery
at the nearby ruined church has the graves of 2000 mens,womens and childrens and sir Henry Lawrence who died in the during the siege.
