Happy weekend beautiful Hive Family 🤗
Friendship is a positive relationship that exists between two or more individuals whose values or impacts are appreciated.
Friendship can be between two genders, the same gender, different or the same age bracket, and sometimes between a human and an animal. Some people find it very easy to make friends using the right approach, while others are poor at building friendships. Some people may just get liked by people without going the extra mile. At this juncture, I must state that friendship can be unilateral; however, it is mostly bilateral or double-sided.
There are various factors that influence the number of friends an individual has and can keep. Most importantly, it is the value an individual has to offer. These values can be a result of one’s profession, upbringing, religion, ethnicity, or even views about life.
Some people are equally receptive to strangers, while others may reflect resistance at every approach. Making friends can thus be as simple as it can be difficult. The individual must have the right approach to strangers or people they see value in, and the other person must be willing to be friends with whoever is approaching or made to open arms to accept the friendship offered.
People get attracted to admirable qualities such as an outward appearance, use of language or diction, the art of writing and communication, funny lifestyles, etc. There are people who become friends by coincidence and convenience, such as roommates, classmates, group members, third-party friendships (friends of a friend), and family ties.
Keeping friends can be challenging and demanding. This is readily seen in people who tend to have or make plenty of friends. There is a chance that communication breaks down and, consequently, friendship gets diminished. It is, however, not impossible to maintain friendships despite the lack of quality communication.
As much as we want to make friends, it is possible to discover that the friends we make are an incognito version of what we actually desire. Such friendships usually die as quickly as they are born.
Keeping friendships can be influenced by the efforts of both parties. Usually, when the friendship is one-sided, there is a high tendency for its premature termination.
At some points, it would be good to show appreciation to friends either physically or verbally. This simple act of appreciation really helps to fan the fire of friendship.
Distance is an important factor in friendship. The farther the distance, the lesser the chances that such a friendship will enjoy constant communication; hence, it has a high chance of being dissolved easily. Every relationship requires good communication to survive, and once that is compromised, there is a significant chance that the value of such a friendship will diminish.
As much as it is good to make friends, we must ask ourselves why we are entering into that relationship. These reasons would influence whether the friendship would be kept or would die a quick or natural death.
