Hello everyone in the wonderful hive blockchain. I hope you’re all doing good and enjoying the weather wherever you are. Once again I’m grateful to the hive learners’ community for their amazing initiatives. It’s so nice to be part of this community, I must say it has greatly improved my writing skills.
The hive learner’s community has again presented us with another amazing topic and I’m glad to be participating.
I’m sure you all know keeping fit is good for you. Regular exercise keeps our body healthy, helps combat different diseases and it also boosts our energy levels, even in old age. Aside from the fact that exercising is loaded with lots of health benefits, it also helps boost confidence.
Keeping fit doesn’t necessarily mean you must go to the gym and carry weights or use the treadmill. You can keep fit just from the comfort of your home, by doing exercises such as jogging, and press-ups, and I even read somewhere that clapping is also a form of exercise and it has lots of health benefits.
Growing up, I had always wanted to keep fit and build muscles. I admire people with six-packs and abs. Six-packs and abs; my dream body. One of the main reasons why I wanted that body is because Cristiano Ronaldo’s (my role model's) body is also like that. He works hard and exercises every day. If you’re a Ronaldo fan, then I’m sure you agree with me that he is one of the most athletic and hard working footballers on earth. He has a perfect body and he posts videos of him working out on his social media accounts. By posting his videos, he motivates people, even other footballers, to work hard and keep fit.
Another reason why I always wanted the perfect body is because those types of people are not easily intimidated. Here in my state, bus conductors/drivers are usually very rude. They talk to you anyhow and can even threaten to beat you up if you don’t comply with their terms. There was a day I had an argument with a bus conductor. Before I entered I told him I didn’t have change, but he told me not to worry. When I got to my stop, he got really angry and was shouting. I tried to explain that I told him I didn’t have change before I entered, but he was just shouting. If I was huge (six packs abs and big muscles), he surely wouldn’t have shouted at me. The instructor in the gym where I work is very huge. He has a perfect body. We go home together, and those bus conductors and drivers are always careful when talking to him.
Getting six-pack abs, nice legs, and big muscles is not easy at all. I’m actually saying this from experience. When I started working in a gym, I saw how big those guys were (you know how gym Bros are? Very big and muscular), seeing them work out was very nice and it motivated me.
The first day, after the morning session, I was the only person in the gym. I closed the doors and started working out. I used the treadmill, lifted dumbbells, I did leg presses, and did other things. I tried almost everything there. The last thing I tried was the weight bench. The gym guys lifted weights so easily, so I thought it’d also be easy for me to carry smaller ones. So I decided to lift 30kg (15kg on both sides, plus 20 kg rod= 50kg in total). I lay on the weight bench and when I carried it close to my chest, I was unable to lift it. Oh boy! I started breathing heavily, I didn’t know what to do, and no one was there to help me. Immediately, I used all the strength left in my body and I managed to lift it. I sat down on the floor, staring at the weight bench and breathing heavily.
When I got home, I slept well, but the next morning when I woke up every part of my body was in pain. I was unable to stretch my hands properly, and talk less about carrying things. My legs were hurting and I was unable to walk properly. My mom had to massage my body with warm water. That was when I knew gyming was not meant for me.
The next time I went to the gym, the gym instructor said it is always like that the first time, but with time it’d get a hang of it. But, Nah, I never tried it again.
Now, all I do at the gym is just sit down and watch others and take pictures (sometimes )😂😂😂
What is my routine
As I said earlier, keeping fit doesn’t mean you must carry heavy stuff. You can even exercise in your room or talk for a walk around the house. There are various apps on the internet that can help you keep fit.
playing football
Playing football is one of my hobbies, and I do it every week. Playing football is also a way to keep fit and a very good way to exercise. I also go for football trainings, where we do different exercises like running, jogging, jumping, squats, and so on.
Walking every day
Walking every day has become a part of me since childhood. My mom and I walk to church every morning. It is a 15 minutes walk. Although, sometimes (when I’m lazy) I skip my morning walks, but it is nice and a good way to exercise.
For now, this is the little I do to stay fit. But I’ve decided to start gyming when school resumes. I want that perfect body!

If you know the health benefits of keeping fit, you won’t want to miss a day without exercising. If you’re looking to burn weight, regular exercise is your solution. Watch your diet and exercise well. There are different apps on play store and App Store loaded with different exercises that can help you keep fit. Download them and enjoy!
