Should a person be made to pay for the opinion or belief they held in the past due to how controversial they were?
An Opinion is your personal understanding of someone or something. It’s not something that everyone should agree with you on, it’s personal, Peculiar to you e.g if I makes a statement that says “ I like tall people “ it’s my personal choice it’s don’t mean that short people are bad or it’s a crime to be short , it’s just my opinion in the next few years to come it’s might change due to one thing or another , as I like tall people someone out there opinion might be that they like short people
Since opinions are just your own choice understanding and preference then what is belief?
Belief is actually deeper, deeper than opinion, it’s a strong conviction about something or someone , you might have no prove and whether people believe the same thing or not it’s does not matter to you
In the journey of life your opinion about something or someone can change easily, belief can also change but it takes time with a stronger conviction for a person’s belief to change
Once upon a time I had this opinion that reading alone is better but when I tried reading with people ( joining group reading) it was also better , my opinion changed making me accepted that reading alone and with people is nice
One thing that is constant in life is change . Change is inevitable.
We humans grow every day we learn and unlearn each day .
As people grow the way they think and act changes
As we grow some of our beliefs and opinions change due to our level of intelligence exposure experience and education
The way you must have thought as a child will not be the same way you will think as an adult
Growth changes everything
There is a verse in the Bible that says “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”
Back to the question asked “should a person be made to pay for the opinion or belief they held in the past due to how controversial they were ?
My Answer is No , no one should pay for his or her opinion or belief in the past
Society can mould a person , religion can mould a person , friends and family can mould a person making the person to develop different views opinions beliefs and mindset different from previous life
In conclusion
In my own opinion the world should focus on who they are today and let bygone be bygone
