You heard me right from the topic; although I have had a rather busy day, even in my busy schedule I had to create time to think about the Week 70 episode 2 prompt of the hive learners weekly contest. You can check out post to get the full gist here. I had to engage a few of my friends in a discussion concerning this topic and just a few hours ago, I was able to finally come up with something I'm sure that AI will never be able to infiltrate.
Shout out to all the football fans out there, apart from being a game, football is one sport that brings people around the world together, which has also added in different ways to the GDP of nations supporting it. FIFA serving as the international body in charge of football recorded a profit of over 5.77 billion dollars with the just concluded world cup contributing immensely to it.
Now let's forget how much FIFA makes, and try to guess how much betting platforms make off the losses of the fans, not even talking about how much clubs make from selling jerseys, branded football kits, stadium tickets e.t.c. or should we take a look at the transfer market to see how much is spent in buys and selling players, especially now that the Suadi Arabians are taking the transfer market very seriously. Calculating all these billions and remembering that tax must be paid to the respective countries where these transactions are made.
Looking at this it's very clear how much effect football as a sport has in the economy of the world. Going forward, it's quite obvious that an AI can never be used to replace footballers for any reason... Writing about it right now, I'm already jealous of these guys because the highest absurd thing an AI can do is be an assistant coach. I mean, would you as a football lover, watch football knowing it's being played by an AI?... I wouldn't, and I think a lot of people wouldn't either.
No matter the level of advancement technology reaches, I'm quite certain footballers and coaches will get to keep their jobs, because football is 100% emotional for the fans that make everything happen. An AI will never have the ability to give the fans the satisfaction of playing a perfect football because football is not something that needs perfection, it's a sport that has perfectly encrypted the hearts of the fans, and watching an AI do it will mean the end of football as a sport.
So if something were to make the world use AI for almost everything, my safe haven will be getting a job as a coach. I have some little experience coaching, although it wasn't football but basketball, which I know as another sport the AI world can never infiltrate, I could try becomeing a basketball coach. Overall, I think learning to invest and find a way to work with new developments is the only way to survive the involvement of AI in our Jobs. This is my view on this matter, feel free to drop yours in the comments section below.
