Presidential Election [Fake News]

Fake news, we can not avoid in everyday life. Fake news is news that is made up with the aim of fighting, inciting, causing division of the people, to cause anger. In this digital era, fake news is very easy to spread to the general public, especially through social media that we use every day. I was once deceived by fake news, during the presidential election in my country, Indonesia. How can my story be deceived by the fake news, then I will write about this in this edition of Kalli. I hope that my writing in this edition will be of interest to all readers.

This incident occurred during the Indonesian presidential election in 2019. We had two presidential candidates during the election period. I am one of the hard-line supporters of one of these presidential candidates. The competition between the two candidates is very tight. There are many supporters of both candidates. even one year before the presidential election, they were already competing strongly in terms of voting. so, in the one year before the presidential election, a lot of fake news circulated. in essence, the fake news was made to lose confidence in one of the candidates.

I was almost influenced and provoked not to support the presidential candidate that I was championing because of the fake news that was made for the candidate I was supporting at that time. The incident happened one week before the presidential election in my country. At that time, there was a hoax that I thought was plausible and damaged the track record of the presidential candidate that I supported. I have 90% believed the fake news. however, I am not completely convinced and believe in the fake news. So, I immediately found out the truth of the fake news. until I along with other hardline supporters find out the truth of the circulating news. After finding out the truth of the news, apparently the news was made to provoke, bring down, and even vilify the presidential candidate we support.

we immediately spread the truth that we got to all our friends and other hardline supporters about the lies of the news that had spread widely, so that no one was provoked by the fake news. but it is also very unfortunate, after the presidential election day, the presidential candidate that we supported was defeated and we have to accept it sincerely.

In conclusion, we should not be quickly provoked by false news circulating in the media. we have to find out the truth of the news first. so that we avoid provocation, division, incitement in the future.
